Third POV
The tension in the room skyrocketed as the two men stood across from each other...two opposing forces, one representing the law and order of the system, the other representing the dark, ruthless power of the underworld.
At last, Caesar met the person who completely turned his life upside down. And he wanted to kill that jerk with all his heart.
Caesar’s jaw tightened, his gaze narrowing as the officer took slow, deliberate steps toward him. The officer’s face betrayed no emotion, but the slight twitch in his hand as it brushed the side of his gun belt gave away the tension he was feeling beneath the surface.
"You’ve come to personally oversee Igor’s release?” Elijah's voice was steady but lacked warmth.
Caesar didn’t respond immediately, his eyes boring into the man as if considering the best way to destroy him.
"You’ve made a mistake, officer. A mistake that will cost you more than you realize" Finally, he spoke, his voice calm but dripping with lethal intent.
"We have evidence, Caesar. Enough to keep Igor behind bars" Elijah's eyes hardened.
A thick, heavy silence fell over the room. The other officers glanced at each other nervously, the civilians holding their breath, unsure of what would happen next. No one dared to move.
"Do you think I care about the evidence?" Caesar's voice was so low that only the officer could hear the chilling threat behind the words.
The officer stood his ground, but the flicker of doubt in his eyes didn’t go unnoticed by anyone. He was facing the Mafia King...a man who could tear down lives with a single order.
When no one spoke, Caesar's attorney stepped forward, keeping his face composed as best as he could and extended the bail papers towards Elijah.
"Here are the bail papers. I trust you’ll sign and process Igor's release immediately" His voice was firm but respectful.
Elijah looked at the lawyer, then down at the papers, his expression hardening with defiance. He didn’t move to reach for the pen or even acknowledge the document. Instead, he folded his arms, his eyes lifting back to Caesar, a slight smirk of his own daring to tug at the corner of his lips.
"Igor is staying in custody" His tone was low but clear.
It was rare for anyone, especially someone in the police force, to openly challenge Caesar like this. It was a statement...a bold, dangerous one.
Caesar's eyes glinted with a quiet fury. He gave a small nod to Akim, who understood immediately. Without a word, Akim pulled out a sleek tablet and stepped forward, turning the screen toward the Elijah.
His eyes drifted reluctantly to the tablet, his gaze hard and unyielding, until he saw what was on the screen. His face paled instantly, his eyes widening as he saw the video playing on it.
A video showing him interacting with a big politician who was holding a sack full of money. Details about his encounters and illicit activities were the next thing to appear on the screen.
Caesar’s smirk grew, watching the head officer crumble before him without saying a word. Elijah's hands trembled as he reached up, his fingers brushing his temple as he stared, shell-shocked, at the incriminating evidence.
"Did you really believe that these people would not bow to me?" Caesar's voice was low when he referred to these politicians.
Despite not being involved in politics, Caesar is still a mafia king who is feared by people from all walks of life.
Elijah's defiant stance shattered, he tore his eyes away from the tablet, swallowing hard as he looked at Caesar.
"Still think you’re in a position to keep Igor here?” Caesar's voice was calm, with a dark amusement lacing his tone.
Without saying anything, Elijah reached for the pen, his hand shaking as he scribbled his signature on the bail papers. He slid them back toward the lawyer, his face ashen. Caesar’s smirk widened, his victory sealed.
Elijah stood rooted to the spot, his face flushed with anger and humiliation. His fists clenched tightly at his sides, his jaw locked in a grim line. Caesar had stripped him of his authority, reduced him in front of his own men. It was a humiliation he would never forget.
After a while, Igor emerged with two officers behind him. He walked steadily, his face calm, his gaze unwavering as he looked directly at Caesar.
Whereas, Caesar didn’t move. His expression remained carefully blank, an unreadable mask that betrayed nothing of the fire raging beneath. But his eyes… his eyes were another story. Cold and piercing, they stayed trained on Igor, a silent exchange taking place in the brief distance that separated them.
The world around them seemed to fade. The moment held for what felt like an eternity before Caesar turned around, indicating Igor to follow him.
As Igor and Caesar reached the doorway, the head officer, fueled by humiliation and rage, called out with a mocking sneer.
"Look at you, Igor. No family, no background...just a mere bodyguard. A shadow trailing behind a man far greater than yourself. And yet, here we are… the mighty Caesar lowering himself to come to the station personally, all for a servant" Elijah spat, venom dripping from each word.
Igor froze, his shoulders tensing under the officer's words, his jaw clenching as he held his ground. Caesar, however, stopped mid-stride, a storm brewing in his eyes as he slowly turned to face the head officer, his gaze icy and unforgiving.
The room fell silent, every eye trained on Caesar, waiting for the inevitable backlash.
But Caesar didn’t speak. He didn’t shout or lash out. Instead, he took a single step closer to Igor, the hint of a defiant smirk tugging at his lips. And without a second’s hesitation, he reached for Igor’s arm, pulling him close, his touch possessive yet unyielding.
Caesar tilted Igor’s face toward him and pressed his lips against his, capturing him in a fierce, lingering kiss. The intensity of it silenced the room, every person in the station frozen, breath held, as the two men shared a passionate, unrestrained kiss.
It wasn’t just a kiss...it was a declaration, raw and powerful, an unspoken message to anyone who dared question Igor’s place by Caesar’s side.
'Now, the whole world will witness what Igor means to Caesar!"
