My phone started to ring and as I picked up, I heard my mother's chipper voice on the other end. "Hello dear, how are you?"

"Hi mom, I am good and you?" I answered

"I am good, we are all good. There is something that I need to ask you though?" She hessitantly asked.

"What is it mom?" I was a little aprehensive as she is always trying to get me to go places to try to find my mate, or other packs were always coming around and she made sure that I was at all the events so that I could meet him.

"Would you take pictures tomorrow for the BBQ? The Blood Moon pack are coming and we need your help." She just kind of spit it out at once.

"OK mom, there is no alterior motive to this is there? I mean, just pictures, I don't have to sit with you at the alpha's table like I'm on display, do I?" I asked, knowing full well that she wanted to parade me around to see if my mate was there.

"Ummm...no, honey. But you know that it's proper for the beta's eldest to sit with us at the dinner." She stated.

"Well..I know," I sighed, "I will do it, but not to find anyone, for the pack and the alpha." I said.

"Oh good dear!" I could hear the excitment in her voice, "Dinner will be at 5, so if you could come at 2 and set up?"

"Yes, see you then. Bye mom." I hung up not really waiting for a goodbye, I knew that she would go into trying to get me to dress up for the occation. I love my parents, but I don't like it when they are always trying to force nature.
