A couple hours after we got back to my house, Aryan and Walker went home, leaving me to make dinner for my sisters while my parents were out.
My parents had literally just went shopping yesterday, so my sisters were all waiting for a full 3 course meal. I made pasta.
I started boiling some Alfredo noodles and mixing up the sauce my mom always makes before I got a FaceTime request from Kenna.
"Hey Ken" I greet her as I set my phone up by the stove, stirring the pasta around.
"Hey Delph. Are you in LA still or no?" She asks.
"No, I'm at home right now." I tell her. "Why, what's up?"
"I wrote a song, and it was ready to be released on Valentine's Day, but I want you to sing the second verse on it." She says.
"I have to be in LA for that?" I ask, moving to strain the pasta out.
"My producer likes to record in studio. Maybe I could fly you out for a day or something?" McKenna requests.
"Yeah, okay. Send me the lyrics and we can figure out a day for me to come down." I agree, mixing the sauce into the noodles.
"Ahh, you're the best. I'll come get you on the 9th." She tells me.
In four days, for clarification.
"Alright, I'll see you then. I need to feed the gremlins that my parents had after me, so I'll talk to you later." I tell her. "Bye Kenna."
"Bye Delph!" She replies, hanging up the phone.
I set the pot of pasta to the side and mix up some instant mashed potatoes for a quick side dish.
The way my mom would not approve of this meal.
I warm up some leftover chicken from last night and cut it up, throwing it into the pasta and mixing it in.
Nobody said I was a chef.
I quickly plate it up and call my sisters into the dining room, placing their cups on the table next to their food, full of water.
They all come rushing in and begin eating as soon as they sit down, which is fine with me because I'm too tired for conversations anyways.
After we ate and I did the dishes, I helped my sisters get ready for bed and read just Betty a story, because James and Inez swear they're too old for one, but they're listening anyways.
Once I get back into my room, all ready for bed, I see that Kenna sent me a couple screenshots of the lyrics she'd written, the second verse highlighted for me to sing.
I read over them before liking the message and leaving it at that as I received a text from Walker.
