"Sunwoo, we made it!" the girl yelled, her excitement bubbling over as she read the email with the results. "you're fucking lying."
As they reached the restaurant the comforting aroma of food filled the air. Sengchanh felt her stomach growl in response. They found a table, and as they dug into their meals, the conversation flowed easily. Stories of high school mishaps and college hopes filled the air, laughter punctuating each tale. But amidst the camaraderie, Sengchanh's thoughts drifted back to Jaemin. Was he really impressed, or was he judging her? Just as she was about to voice her concerns, Jaehyun interrupted.
"so, what do you think of my friends"
Sengchanh looked up, momentarily startled by Jaehyun's question. "Your friends? They seem great honestly, I mean, you're all really fun to hang out with," she replied, trying to keep her tone casual.
Jaehyun smirked, leaning back in his chair. "You're not just saying that because you're nervous, are you? I can tell when someone's trying to be polite."
Sengchanh rolled her eyes playfully. "you're funny if you think i have any man making me nervous"
Sunwoo chimed in, grinning. "What about Jaemin? Renjun told me you guys were partnered up for a project. What do you think of him?"
Her heart skipped a beat at the mention of Jaemin. "He's... intriguing, I guess," she said carefully, trying to gauge their reactions. "I mean, he's talented, and I can see why everyone likes him in a way, i guess it's just me who he acts pissy to"
Jaehyun laughed. "pissy is definitely one way to put it, once you get to know him he isn't that bad, you'll understand if you ever got closer with him"
Sengchanh couldn't help but feel a flicker of curiosity about Jaemin's other side. "Yeah, I guess I haven't seen that side of him yet," she admitted.
Sunwoo leaned in, his expression mischievous. "You should try to get to know him better, we can't have two people who hate eachother in our friend group can we."
Sengchanh frowned slightly. "hate? I just met the dude...maybe if he wasn't so stubborn and annoying."
Jaehyun nudged her playfully. "i'm sure he thinks the same way about you" making sunwoo laugh earning a glare from the girl
As they continued to eat and chat, Sengchanh felt the tension around Jaemin lift a little. Maybe they were just two sides of the same coin—both striving to excel, but perhaps there was more to discover beneath the surface.
She took a deep breath and decided to be open-minded. "Okay, maybe I'll try talking to him more. Who knows? Maybe I'll find out he's not as bad as I thought."
As the boys dropped Sengchanh off at her house, the clock neared 9 PM. Once inside, she started her routine to get ready for bed, but her thoughts kept circling back to Jaemin. She couldn't quite pinpoint why he lingered in her mind—there was just something about him that sparked her curiosity.
