The morning light streamed softly through the sheer curtains of Meera and Aarav’s room, casting a warm glow on the walls. Meera stirred awake, feeling the gentle weight of Aarav's arm draped across her waist. A content smile crept onto her face as she turned to look at him, his peaceful expression making her heart flutter.

“Good morning, sleepyhead,” she whispered, leaning in to kiss his cheek.

Aarav smiled sleepily, opening one eye. “Good morning, beautiful. What time is it?”

“Too early for you, I’d say,” Meera teased, nudging him playfully.

“Let’s just stay here a little longer,” he replied, pulling her closer. “I could get used to waking up like this every day.”

Meera giggled, snuggling against him. They stayed wrapped in each other’s warmth, enjoying the moment until a familiar voice broke the peaceful silence.

“Meera, beta! Are you both awake? I’m making kheer and gulab jamun!” Neeta called from the kitchen.

Meera’s stomach rumbled at the mention of her favorite sweets. “Looks like we have to get up now,” she said, reluctantly slipping out of Aarav’s embrace.

“Fine, but I’m not happy about it,” Aarav replied dramatically, pretending to pout.

As they made their way to the kitchen, the delicious aroma of spices filled the air. Neeta stood at the stove, stirring a pot of simmering kheer while a tray of gulab jamun sat waiting on the counter.

“Good morning, Mom!” Meera greeted, her eyes lighting up at the sight of the treats.

“Good morning, my loves! I hope you’re hungry because I made enough for an army!” Neeta said with a smile. “Today is a special day, after all.”

Aarav wrapped his arms around Meera’s waist from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder. “It smells amazing, ma. You always know how to make us feel loved.”

Neeta chuckled, turning to give Aarav a teasing smile. “You know the way to my heart is through my cooking.”

As they shared breakfast together, the kitchen filled with laughter and warmth. Aarav recounted funny stories from their time in America, and Meera chimed in with her own anecdotes.

“Remember the time I accidentally burned the toast?” Meera asked, laughter bubbling in her throat.

“Yeah, and I thought we’d have to call the fire department!” Aarav responded, pretending to gasp.

After breakfast, Neeta suggested they visit the temple to seek blessings for their anniversary. “It’s a beautiful way to start your day together,” she said.

“Sounds perfect,” Meera said, glancing at Aarav. “What do you think?”

“I’m in! Let’s go,” Aarav replied, excitement lighting up his eyes.

They changed into traditional attire—Meera in a lovely saree and Aarav in a kurta—and made their way to the nearby temple. The streets were bustling with activity, and the atmosphere felt festive.

As they entered the temple, the sound of chanting and the scent of incense enveloped them. Meera felt a sense of peace wash over her as they stepped inside. Holding Aarav’s hand, she led him to the altar.

“Let’s pray for our love and happiness,” she whispered, closing her eyes.

Aarav nodded, squeezing her hand. “And for our families, too.”

They offered their prayers, lighting a diya and expressing their gratitude. The flickering flame mirrored the love that danced between them.

“Today feels perfect,” Aarav said, looking down at Meera with affection. “I’m so grateful to be with you.”

Meera smiled back, her heart swelling. “I feel the same way. This year has been the best of my life.”

After the temple visit, they returned home, where both families had gathered for a small anniversary celebration. The living room was decorated with flowers and fairy lights, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

“Surprise!” everyone shouted as Meera and Aarav entered, their faces lighting up with joy.

“Wow! You all did this for us?” Meera exclaimed, feeling overwhelmed with love.

“Of course! It’s your special day,” Raj said, wrapping his arms around them. “We’re so proud of you both.”

Neeta ushered them to the dining table, which was laden with delicious food and sweets. “Eat, eat! You need your energy for the festivities!”

The party commenced with laughter, music, and the sound of clinking glasses. Both families mingled effortlessly, sharing stories and enjoying the atmosphere. Aarav pulled Meera close, and they danced together, lost in their own world.

“You look so beautiful tonight,” Aarav whispered, his eyes sparkling with admiration.

“Thank you! You’re not too bad yourself,” Meera teased, playfully bumping her shoulder against him.

As the evening progressed, they cut the cake, laughter ringing out as they fed each other slices. Aarav playfully smeared some frosting on Meera’s nose, and she retaliated by doing the same.

“Hey! Now I have to clean up,” he protested, pretending to wipe his face dramatically.

“Good luck with that!” Meera laughed, enjoying every moment.

Later in the evening, they gathered for a toast. Raj raised his glass and said, “To Aarav and Meera! May your love continue to grow and flourish.”

“Cheers!” everyone echoed, clinking their glasses together.

As the night drew to a close, Meera and Aarav found a quiet moment on the balcony, away from the lively celebration inside. The night sky was dotted with stars, and a gentle breeze whispered through the air.

“Can you believe how far we’ve come?” Meera said, leaning against the railing, her heart full.

Aarav stood beside her, his arm around her shoulder. “It’s been an incredible journey. I’m so thankful to have you by my side.”

“I feel the same,” Meera replied softly, looking into his eyes. “I’m so happy we’re here together, surrounded by family.”

“Together is my favorite place to be,” Aarav said, tilting her chin up so their eyes locked. “I love you, Meera.”

“I love you too, Aarav,” she whispered, leaning in for a gentle kiss under the stars.

As they stood there, wrapped in each other’s arms, they knew that this was just the beginning of their beautiful journey together. Today, they celebrated not only their love but the bond of family that surrounded them.

With hearts full of joy, they returned to the celebration, ready to make more memories and cherish each moment of their lives together.
