I never believed in alien life. I found the idea absurd. Whenever someone would mention the possibility of life on another planet I would laugh at them and tell them how ridiculous they were. It just completely implausible to me. That was until one night when they came for me...

I was just drifting off to sleep when a blinding white light shone through my window. At first I thought it was a car with their full beans on, but when my bed started to shake and my body started to levitate I knew it was something more.

I screamed into the air. I put so much force into it that I thought somebody would come running, but when I opened my mouth nothing came out. It was as if someone had hit the mute button, stopping any sound from escaping my lips.

Suddenly there was nothing. It was all black. It was like the lights had been turned off, plunging me into a dark abyss.

My body shook as I tried to understand what was happening, but no amount of preparation would have prepared for me what I would see when a soft illumination filled the room.

A screamed ripped through my body as I looked around the square cube I was trapped in. I was surrounding by glass walls, next to another room of glass and another and another. Each room with a person trapped inside, screaming and yelling in horror. But although I could see their mouths moving as they cried and shouted, I couldn't hear a thing. All I could hear was myself, letting me know there was no way of being able to converse with the person locked in the next room.

I collapsed onto my knees fearing what was to come. Why were we here? Who did this to us? But as the questions started to form in my mind the room started to fill with a cloudy smoke.

I tried to hold my breath. I even covered my face with my top, but it did not good as my body dropped to the floor before slipping into an unconsciousness I never wanted to wake from.

I wasn't sure how long had passed when I next woke up. I could feel restraints around my wrist, waist and ankles, pinning me to a cold table, but I didn't dare open my eyes, too scared to know what was happening.

'I know you're awake.' A voice spoke.

Whoever it was spoke English. Another person had done this to me! I was hoping maybe I could appeal to their human nature, but as I open my eyes to look at my capture I instantly knew he was anything but human.

He was tall, very tall, maybe seven foot. He was slim, but not skinny. His fingers were long and spindly, reminding me of spiders legs. His skin was as white as paper and his eyes completely black, making him look almost demonic. His mouth stretched across his face, baring the sharp fangs that hid beneath and beyond those jutted out a pointed tongue, split at the end like that of a snake. The hair on top of his head was long and black, matching his eyes and it was tied into a bun on the top of his head with loose strands falling down to his face.

A scream rips through me as I try to fight my restraints. I wanted to put some space between me and the monster standing in front of me, but it was pointless. It did nothing. The creature just stood there, watching me with an odd fascination.

'Screaming is futile.' It says. 'There is no need to fight me. I mean you no harm.' It was then I looked down to the box on its chest that the words seemed to be coming from. It was some sort of communication device that allowed it to talk to me in my own language.

'What... what are you? What do you want?' I ask panicked.

'I'm Zee. My people seek a new home since ours was destroyed.'

'What does that have to do with me?'

'Your species is compatible with my own.' He says as if that should be explanation enough.
