I knew it was her, I always felt it deep in my heart, but when I bit her and tasted her blood, I was certain she was my mate.

She was sweetly asleep in my arms. Her breathing was soft and even. She was safe in my arms, and I felt complete.
She muttered something and smiled, then said my name, like a whisper "Chris", and giggled. I held her closer to me and fell asleep.
I woke up. The living room was dark, cold, and felt empty.
I sat up, and she wasn't here.
It took me a moment to gather my thoughts when the door to the guest room opened.
Luna walked out wearing only a bathrobe. I swear my heart started to beat again when I saw her.

I walked us back into the room.

I nodded.
- I will stay until 10 p.m., then I have to go home.-

- We are not going to see each other until Friday.- my heart broke at her words.
We walked to the sofa and took a seat.
- How come?- I didn't remember any commitments for this week.
- I have to travel to Paris tomorrow. My flight departs at 4 p.m., and I won't be back until Friday. I was invited this morning, and I agreed.-
