The next day, the Cobras gathered around during lunch, their usual lively energy dimmed as they debated their options. Johnny was leaning against a tree, arms crossed, his face set with frustration. Ever since Kreese had been exposed for his twisted methods, it was clear they needed a new way forward, somewhere they could train without the toxicity that Cobra Kai had turned into.
"So... what now?" Bobby asked, breaking the silence. "We can't just stop training. It's all we've known."
Jimmy shrugged. "I mean, we could train on our own, but it won't be the same without a sensei. We need someone to actually guide us."
"That's the problem," Tommy said, frowning. "Who else is gonna take us on after knowing we were Kreese's students?"
Dutch leaned back, a smirk playing on his lips. "I mean, we could ask that Miyagi guy, right?" he joked, half-heartedly. "At least he knows how to fight."
At the mention of Miyagi, Johnny shot Dutch a sharp look. "You're joking, right?"
Dutch laughed. "Come on, man. If anyone can teach us without the crap Kreese put us through, it'd be him. You saw what he did to Kreese back there. He's no joke."
The others went silent, considering it. You glanced at Johnny, sensing his hesitation. He was biting his lip, clearly battling his pride. "Look," you said softly, "maybe Dutch has a point. Miyagi isn't like Kreese. He knows how to fight, but he doesn't... you know, break people."
Johnny sighed, running a hand through his hair. "It's just... he's Daniel's sensei. And Daniel—" Johnny cut off, grimacing. "Daniel and I don't exactly get along."
"Then what's the worst that can happen?" Bobby interjected. "We show up, ask him, and he turns us down. That's it."
Johnny finally nodded, relenting. "Fine. But we all go together. And if he shuts us down, then that's that."
Later that afternoon, you and the Cobras made your way to Mr. Miyagi's place. The closer you got, the more Johnny's nerves seemed to surface. When you reached the backyard, you could see Daniel practicing with Miyagi. His movements were precise and calculated, showing just how much he'd grown under Miyagi's training.
Daniel noticed you all first, stopping mid-move as he stared at the group, clearly surprised—and not exactly pleased. "What are you guys doing here?" he asked, his voice tense.
Johnny stepped forward, trying to keep his cool. "We came to talk to Mr. Miyagi."
Daniel narrowed his eyes. "Why? So you can learn his moves and use them against me?"
Johnny shook his head. "No, man. We're done with that. We need a new place to train. Kreese... he's not our sensei anymore."
Mr. Miyagi, who had been watching quietly, stepped forward with a calm, measured look. "You want Miyagi teach you karate?"
Johnny hesitated, glancing at his friends before meeting Miyagi's gaze. "Yes, Sensei... if you'll give us a chance."
Miyagi studied each of you, his eyes thoughtful. "Karate is not about fighting to hurt or win. Only for defense. Understand?"
The Cobras all nodded, Johnny most of all, a newfound respect in his expression. "We get it, Mr. Miyagi. We want to learn the right way."
Daniel frowned, crossing his arms. "You can't be serious, Mr. Miyagi. After everything they've done?"
Mr. Miyagi gave Daniel a calm look. "People can change, Daniel-san. Even Johnny-san. Everyone deserves second chance."
Johnny's expression softened as he exchanged a glance with you, grateful for Miyagi's acceptance. "Thank you, Mr. Miyagi. We'll prove to you that we're serious about this."
