"All right class, settle down! Those who are still standing, you better get to your seats!" The teacher's attention was directed to the door, as students run to their seats. After a long minute, the students have all taken their seats as silence engulped the class. All of them were waiting to the teacher's next words.
"There, that wasn't so hard was it?" The teacher flashed a grin as she looked around the class. "Well, I've marked all your term test and the results vary. But its all right! We have time to improve before the finals!"
Pacing around the class with the papers in hand, the teacher continued. "Before I pass the papers, I would like to give special praise to a student. This student scored 100 on the test, and she's the only to do so!"
"Good job, Jhoanna Robles!" Flashing a smile, she passed the paper to the girl. The whole class erupted into a series of applause, with boys and girls all cheering for the girl named Jhoanna.
You see, Jhoanna was what you would call a 'model student'. She had the brains, looks, and she was always ready to help anu of her classmates. Most of all, she wasn't arrogant even though she did the best in class. I a way, she was probably one of the favorite student of the teachers.
Adjusting her thick glasses, she perked up when the teacher called her name.
"O-oh thank you Ms. Mallari" she reached out and received the paper with both hands.
Ms. Mallari continued calling the names of students, as they took turns to get to the front to receive their papers.
As Ms. Mallari start to teach about new chapter, Jhoanna was eagerly scribbling down notes, taking pointers and tips that Ms. Mallari was giving out. Model student indeed.
'Riiiing~'
At the sound of the school bell, other students quickly stood and pack their stuffs, and running to the exit.
"Jhoanna~ could you help explain this question again?"
"Yes yes! Me too please!"
For the rest that did not rush out of class, a small group gathered around Jhoanna hoping she could help them.
"Sure!" She replied, taking a seat, "See, if you do it this way.......Add this......cancel this over here.......
With detailed explanations, she gave her classmates a rundown of how the answer was obtained.
"....and that's how we get the answer!" She grinned, returning the paper to her classmates. After thanking her.
Slowly, the classmates packed their stuff and left the class.
