Me and Wells talk for the whole journey to school and he seems like a really nice guy. We talk about the school and the clubs and things like that. He tells me about his family and how his dad is an English teacher at Dropship. I tell him about how me and my mom moved here yesterday but I leave out the part with my dad dying and needing a fresh start.
When we arrive at the school, I park and jump out. Wells gets out too and directs me to the office.
"I can introduce you to some of my friends at lunch if you want," he says nicely.
"Sounds great, see you then, Wells," I say with a fake smile. I've never been good at making friends because I'm way too shy.
He walks off and I go to my first class which is History. When I get there, my eyes skim across the people in the class. A few look approachable but most of them just look like they don't want to be there. And then there's me, the clueless new girl.
I approach the teachers desk and ask where to sit. She points to a seat with a dark haired girl next to it.
When I reach the table, the girl offers her hand to shake. I took it and smiled.
"Hi, I'm Octavia, what's your name?"
"Hey, I'm Clarke."
"So, newbie, where did you live before you moved here?"
"Chicago."
"Oh wow, I've always wanted to go there. What's it like there?"
We talk for a little before class starts. Octavia's pretty full on but she seems nice.
"So, Clarke, do you like to party?" she asks.
"Um, no, not really."
"Well that's all gonna change tonight." Her face grows into a small, devious smile.
