It had been a few weeks since Y/N had arrived in Japan, and she'd quickly fallen into her own rhythm at UA. Though sleep often felt like a luxury, she had built a habit of waking up early to kick off her day with a high-intensity workout at the school's gym. At first, she enjoyed the quiet and solitude, using the empty space to train her stamina, strength, and control over her quirk. But this particular morning, her usual peaceful routine took an unexpected turn.

As Y/N stretched, her music playing softly from her speaker, she heard the gym doors creak open. She looked up to see Bakugou stepping inside, looking almost as surprised as she was.

"What are you doing here so early, extra?" he scoffed, crossing his arms and giving her a pointed look.

She rolled her eyes, unfazed. "I always come here early to work out," she replied, resuming her stretches. "And watch who you're calling 'extra.' Last I checked, you're not the only person here."

Bakugou narrowed his eyes but didn't respond immediately. Instead, he just muttered, "Tch. Just don't get in my way." With that, he moved to the other side of the gym.

Shrugging him off, Y/N began her workout. She lost herself in her punches, each hit backed by a small burst of her red energy quirk. Before she realized it, one particularly strong punch sent the punching bag flying across the room, slamming against the wall with a loud thud. She winced, hoping she hadn't damaged anything.

Bakugou glanced over at her, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Careful, Yagi," he said, mockingly. "Don't want to break anything, do you?"

Y/N shot him a dry look. "I've got it under control, thanks."

They worked in silence after that, though Bakugou couldn't help stealing a few glances as she trained. She had an impressive way of moving—fluid and powerful. Not that he'd ever admit it.

As the clock hit 6:30 am, Y/N wrapped up her workout, grabbing her towel and water bottle as she headed toward the locker rooms. Bakugou, having barely started his own workout, watched her leave, feeling an odd sense of intrigue. He knew she wasn't weak, but she was proving to be more than just a "new face."

Later that day, in Aizawa's last class, the students were buzzing with excitement. "We're doing sparring matches today," Aizawa announced, drawing immediate attention. "I'll be pairing you up. First up—Y/N and Todoroki."

Y/N and Todoroki exchanged nods, each sizing the other up as they stepped into the sparring arena. Y/N reached out to shake Todoroki's hand, and he returned the gesture with a polite, focused smile.

"Ready?" she asked, grinning.

"Ready," he replied, getting into position.

The match began with Todoroki summoning his ice, sending sharp spikes and barriers in her direction. Y/N moved fast, using her energy to propel herself into the air, dodging his attacks with graceful precision. The class watched in awe as she shot through the arena, using bursts of red energy to move with incredible speed, weaving through the icy onslaught.

Bakugou, seated off to the side, was practically leaning forward in his seat. He'd never actually seen her fight before, and he found himself captivated by how effortlessly she dodged Todoroki's attacks.

Todoroki switched tactics, melting his ice with flames to disrupt her path, but Y/N wasn't fazed. She redirected some of the broken ice shards, swirling them around her with telekinesis before launching them back toward him. Todoroki managed to counter with his flames, but he didn't anticipate Y/N closing the distance between them so quickly. One moment she was a few meters away, and in the next instant, she was behind him, locking his arm and pulling it back just enough to make him struggle.
