Suisei Pov:

As the final bell rang, Suisei shot out of the school, making a beeline for the Comets' gym. She maneuvered quickly through the crowded sidewalks, her heart racing—not just from excitement, but from the fanboys pouring out of the school behind her.

Shit she thought, glancing over her shoulder. She spun on her heel, darting into a narrow alleyway to lose them. But the fanboys were persistent, their calls echoing as she twisted and turned down the dark alley. She sprinted into a busier street, weaving into the crowd.

"Suisei! Marry me!"

"Suisei, can I date your brother!?"

"Suisei, please battle me in Beyblade!"

The shouts followed her, but she kept pushing forward, eyes scanning for a quick escape. Just then, she spotted a car rumbling down the street, its wheels crunching over the concrete. Timing it perfectly, she dashed across just in front of the vehicle, forcing her fans to scatter to avoid getting hit. As the car sped past, she ducked into some thick bushes nearby, watching through the leaves as her fans looked around in confusion before finally giving up and dispersing.

Once the coast was clear, Suisei clambered out of the bushes, brushing herself off before setting off again. She glanced over her shoulder to make sure they were truly gone—*wham!* She collided with someone, stumbling backward and landing hard on the pavement.

Looking up, she noticed two things:

One, she had just crashed into a boy.

Two, his hair looked like a fucking pinecone.

Suisei adjusted her cap, which had slipped askew when she fell.

"Oh, crap, I'm sorry!" said the boy she'd collided with, looking embarrassed.

Suisei gave him a quick once-over. He was a short guy with spiked crimson hair, two small bangs framing his temples, and sharp red eyes. A distinctive half-sun tattoo marked his left cheek. His outfit was a mix of black, orange, and crimson: a black sweatshirt with an orange sun symbol, a crimson hoodie with an orange sun on the back, a white belt with a gray buckle, dark blue shorts with white stripes, and crimson compression pants. He wore white sneakers with orange detailing and a green-cuffed, teal fingerless glove on his left hand.

He gave her a sheepish smile and offered his hand to help her up. Suisei took it, pulling herself to her feet and brushing off her skirt. "Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going," she apologized. "Nah, it's fine—I wasn't paying attention either," he replied, still smiling. Then he glanced at his watch. "Oh, man! I've gotta get going, or I'll be late for my Beyclub meeting with my team, the Comets!"

"Wait!" Suisei called, her eyes lighting up. "Could you show me the way there?" The boy tilted his head, curious. "How come?" Her face brightened. "I'm a new member! I just joined!"

"By the way, im Hyuga!"

As they walked, Suisei couldn't help but admire Hyuga's energy. He spoke animatedly about the team, sharing funny anecdotes about practices and the last tournament. His enthusiasm was contagious, and soon Suisei found herself laughing at his stories.

"Just a heads-up," Hyuga said, glancing sideways at her. "Hikaru, our captain, can be a bit... intense. But don't worry; he means well. Just show him what you've got, and you'll fit right in."

Suisei nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves at the thought of meeting Hikaru. "I hope I can keep up with you guys. I've been practicing a lot."

Hyuga gave her an encouraging grin. "You'll do great! Everyone's got your back. Plus, I'm sure we can come up with some killer strategies together. You're going to love it!"
