"Burst finish!" Hanami, the commentator, exclaimed. Suisei panted heavily, having just unleashed a move called Eclipse Crash. In a breathtaking display, her Beyblade spun furiously around Rina's, generating immense friction before Selene barreled around the stadium, crashing into Rina's Bey and bursting it spectacularly. "Phantom Selene with a burst finish! Suisei wins with a score of 2-0!"
Rina's eyes widened in shock, round as amber coins. She trembled as she stooped to pick up her Bey. But then, a genuine smile broke across her face, radiating joy. "That was an incredible match!" Rina exclaimed, resetting her Bey with a satisfying click. She extended her hand toward Suisei for a shake. Though Suisei found the abrupt shift in Rina's emotions a bit unneriving, she accepted the handshake, squeezing firmly.
"Your Bey is impressive! I didn't see that center wall move coming!" Suisei complimented, not wanting to appear rude.
Rina spun on her heels and skipped away, her exuberance evident despite her recent defeat. Suisei brushed off the oddity of the interaction and stepped off the stage, heading backstage. As she wandered through the cool, echoing hallways, she turned toward Hikaru's training room. Hesitation gripped her as she considered entering but instead opted to peek through the spotless glass window.
Inside, Hikaru was intently coaching Helios, urging it to push through as he practiced a new move he had been developing. Suisei couldn't help but admire his determination and strength as a Blader. A warmth blossomed within her at the thought, and she remembered Aiko's teasing words: "You're really smitten with those two, huh?"
Just as Suisei realized Aiko had a knack for reading her better than she could herself, Hikaru glanced up.
He flashed a bright smile and approached the door, which Suisei hadn't noticed was locked. "Hey," he greeted, his voice filled with warmth.
"Hi! Isn't your match starting soon?" she asked, a mix of curiosity and concern in her tone.
"Yep," he replied, flipping Helios anxiously in his hands.
"Don't worry; you'll do great. You'll win this, Captain." Suisei said, her confidence shining through.
Hikaru smiled back at her, and in that moment, her earlier apprehension faded away.
Hikaru Pov:
Hikaru strolled slowly through the chilly halls, savoring the cool air after hours of intense training. He had been practicing throughout Suisei's match, catching glimpses of her incredible victory on the small TV in the training room. Watching her skillful win had filled him with confidence—he felt certain that the Comets would come out victorious.
The lineup was set: Suisei had just won the first match against Rina. Next up, it would be him against Kai, the leader of the Storm Blades. The final match would feature Riku and Chikara, but if either he or Riku lost a point, Nova or Hyuga would step in to take on the challenge.
Reaching the elevator, Hikaru took a steadying breath as he entered and felt his heart race on the ascent. When the doors opened, he heard the booming voice of Hanami announcing, "In the blue corner, the pride of the Comets, Hikaru Hizashi!" The roar of the crowd hit him in waves, pulsing through his ears. "And in the red corner, the fierce Blader, Kai Kaji!"
Hikaru and Kai strode toward the center of the arena, meeting for a firm handshake as they presented their Beys. Kai's Dubious Kraken gleamed ominously in the light—a Beyblade Hikaru had heard a lot about. The referee signaled for them to take their positions.
"Three...!" The crowd hushed in anticipation as Hikaru gripped his launcher tightly.
"Two...!" Tension crackled in the air.
