amelie always thought love looked like the perfect husband, two and a half kids, a goldren retriever, a swimming pool and a white picket fence in a sunny los angeles neighborhood. she thought success was a good degree from a good university, a good income at a good job, and a volleyball career she could look back on and be proud of when she's old. she's always believed that the two couldn't co-exist. then, out of nowhere, a quiet girl with freckles and eyes like chocolate pebbles weaves herself into the web of amelie's life, and love starts looking like attending soccer games though she doesn't know any of the rules, even when it's raining. and success starts feeling like dimples on freckled cheeks and trading hoodies in the winter while the love of her life sings her to sleep on a picnic blanket in her backyard, and amelie learns that success and love don't have to be mutually exclusive and often aren't. lucky for her, amelie would never have to know what it would be like to live without such luxuries.
