Bey sat in the quiet of their home, the soft afternoon light filtering through the window. The house was filled with the gentle sounds of life—the laughter of her children playing in the yard, the distant chirping of birds, and the faint rustle of leaves in the breeze. But in that moment, Bey felt a weight pressing down on her heart, a familiar ache that reminded her of the loss she had endured.

With a pen in hand and a notebook resting on her lap, she poured her emotions onto the page. Each word flowed like a river, carrying with it the grief and sorrow that had lived within her for so long. She was writing a poem titled "Heartbeat," a cathartic expression of her pain and longing.

"I guess love was just not enough for us to survive.
I swear, I swear, I swear I tried.
I'm so unlucky I can't breathe.
You took the life right out of me.
I'm longing for your heartbeat."

As she wrote, tears streamed down her cheeks. It was a release, a way to confront her feelings and accept what had happened. She hoped that by sharing it, she could begin to heal.

When she finished, Bey sat back, wiping her eyes. The poem felt like a bittersweet farewell to the child she had lost. It was an acknowledgment of her pain but also a step toward finding peace. She took a deep breath and called for Jay, who was in the kitchen.

“Jay, can you come here for a second?” she said, her voice still shaky but filled with determination.

He entered the room, sensing the gravity in her tone. “What’s up, babe?” He noticed her teary eyes and the notebook clutched tightly in her hands.

“I wrote something,” she said, her voice trembling slightly. “I want to share it with you.”

Jay stepped closer, his expression softening as he sat beside her on the couch. Bey took a deep breath and began to read her poem aloud, her heart racing with each line. She felt vulnerable, yet there was a sense of strength in sharing her truth.

As she finished, she looked up to find Jay’s eyes glistening with tears. Without a word, he enveloped her in a tight embrace, pulling her close. Bey melted into his arms, feeling the warmth and safety of his presence.

“I’m so proud of you for writing this, Bey,” Jay whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “You’re so strong, and I’m here for you, always.”

“I’m trying to be okay,” she replied softly, holding onto him tightly. “It’s just... it’s hard sometimes.”

“I know,” he said, kissing the top of her head. “But it’s going to be alright. We’re going to get through this together.”

Bey took a moment to let his words wash over her, feeling a flicker of hope ignite within her heart. “Thank you for always being here, Jay. You help me more than you know.”

They held each other for a long time, two souls intertwined in a shared understanding of love and loss. In that moment, Bey felt lighter, as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders. She knew the journey ahead would still be filled with challenges, but she also knew she wouldn’t have to face them alone.

“I love you, Jay,” she whispered, her voice filled with sincerity.

“I love you too, Bey. More than anything,” he replied, his grip tightening around her.

In the sanctuary of each other’s arms, they found solace, a reminder that even in the darkest moments, love could light the way forward.
