THUD

Ena stared at the body in front of her, breathing heavily. She set the pipe down on the floor, avoiding the chance of a loud, echoing clatter to resonate through the room. The sound of Nene's carcass falling onto the floor was already enough. She didn't want to draw attention to her, even if it was nighttime.

"Oh, god..."

The brunette shook her head. Her hair was all messed up, but her hands were covered in blood. She didn't want to risk getting that disgusting red liquid into her hair.

She didn't think this through. Ena was stupid for doing this. She really just killed someone, didn't she...?

But..

Ena took a deep breath, sighing. The air was filled with the metallic scent of blood. She should get to cleaning things up as quickly as possible.

There was.. her own clothes, the floors, the weapon... should Ena try to hide the body, as well? Or would that be too much work? She really hadn't thought things through, huh...

Killing the person was easy enough. But hiding all the evidence was a completely different story, it seemed. And to think Ena did all of this just to survive instead of having the tables turn against her- just how cruel was this stupid game?

Ena wondered what happened to Miku to turn her into this- she wondered why she, and all of her friends had been chosen for this game. What did Miku call it again? 'Danganronpa' or something? What the hell did that even mean?

But.. the idea of getting out of here was too enticing, too good to refuse. Even if everyone else had to die, she would do what it took. And paired up with the current motive- a plus one...

If Ena won the trial, that meant someone would be able to leave with her. From the few people left since the game had begun, Ena could choose someone to live- and the price of everyone else's executions.

Ena looked around, walking over to a cloth to wipe her palms with. It was better than cleaning everything else with blood-stained hands, anyway.

But as Ena put the cloth back down, she heard the door creak open.

She froze.

Shit.

No.

No, no, no, this couldn't be happening, she couldn't have gotten-

"...Ena?"

.

.

.

"..Aki..to-?"

Ena slowly turned around. Standing in the doorway was a shocked Akito, his hands trembling as he gripped the frame. His eyes were wide with horror as his pupils darted from Ena, to the body, to the cloth, to the pipe, then back to Ena, and again and again.

"...You killed someone?" He breathed out. His voice was hoarse; barely above a whisper.

Ena couldn't find it in herself to say anything. The trial hadn't even begun and she already fucked things up. But at the same time, she couldn't look away from her little brother's eyes.
