Banni sat comfortably in Dr Shobha's inviting office, the gentle hum of the air conditioning providing soothing background noise. The room was decorated with warm colours and soft lighting, creating an atmosphere of calm and introspection. Dr. Shobha sat across from her, an encouraging smile on her face.
"Banni," Dr. Shobha began, her voice warm and reassuring, "I must say, Kabir's willingness to see things from different perspectives is truly admirable. It shows a level of maturity and understanding that's quite rare."
"Yes, Dr. Shobha," Banni agreed, her heart swelling with pride for Kabir. "He's been so open and honest with me. It's helped us both grow so much."
Dr. Shobha leaned forward slightly, her gaze gentle but probing. "And how do you feel about your relationship with Kabir now? Do you feel more secure about where you both stand?"
Banni smiled softly, warmth spreading through her chest. "Yes, Dr. Shobha," she replied sincerely. I feel much more secure about our relationship now. Talking to Kabir about all this has helped. I can see the effort he's putting into answering all my questions, to be honest with me."
She paused, her gaze thoughtful as she continued. "It means a lot to me, knowing that he's willing to be open and vulnerable. It's not easy to confront the past and admit mistakes, but he's doing it for us, for our future."
Dr Shobha nodded, her expression one of understanding and encouragement. "That's wonderful to hear, Banni. It sounds like you both are building a strong foundation of trust and communication, which is essential for any relationship."
"Yes, we are," Banni agreed, feeling a renewed sense of hope and confidence. "And I know that as long as we continue to support and understand each other, we'll be able to face whatever challenges come our way."
Dr Shobha leaned back, her hands resting on her lap, and she regarded Banni with a thoughtful expression. "Banni," she began, "now that you've had the chance to reflect on everything, do you feel like you better understand how your relationship with Kabir differs from his past relationship with Tulika?"
Banni hesitated, her brow furrowing slightly as she considered the question. Her voice was tinged with uncertainty as she replied, "I... I think I understand what you and Kabir are saying, Dr. Shobha. But it's still hard for me to fully grasp it."
She paused, searching for the right words to convey the complex emotions swirling within her. "The way you both describe Kabir's relationship with Tulika... it sounds so... so frivolous. Like it was just a fleeting thing, not something that could have had such a deep impact on him."
Banni continued, her voice growing more intense as she spoke. "Tulika was so important to Kabir. Her love was his trigger. It used to bring him back from Yuvaan. Isn't that depth? Isn't that connection?"
Dr. Shobha listened intently, her expression thoughtful. After a moment, she gently asked, "Banni, do you think it was Tulika herself who was a trigger for Kabir, or was it merely the fact that Tulika was in danger or pain that brought him back?"
Banni was stunned by the question, her mind racing to process the implications. Her eyes widened slightly as she sat silently, grappling with the possibility that had never occurred.
