After gathering crucial information about Vickey Saha's reign of terror in Jalapuranagar, Detective Raj Biswas resolves to take decisive action. With a heavy heart and a steely resolve, Raj, accompanied by Naresh Dutta, makes his way to the village police station, where he is greeted by the weary but resolute Inspector Sharma. He then suggests Inspector Sharma to request a post-mortem examination of Dulal's body, determined to uncover the truth behind his tragic demise.
"Inspector Sharma, I need your assistance in conducting a post-mortem examination on Dulal's body," Raj announces, his voice firm with determination. Inspector Sharma nods solemnly, his eyes reflecting a mixture of sympathy and determination. "I understand, Mr. Biswas. We'll do everything in our power to ensure a thorough investigation."
As they make preparations for the post-mortem, Raj speaks with Dulal's grieving family, offering words of comfort and reassurance. Mrs. Sunita Roy, Dulal's widow, clings to Raj's hand, her eyes brimming with tears.
"Thank you, Biswas babu (In India and Bangladesh, "babu" is often used as a term of endearment or respect when addressing a man.)," she whispers, her voice filled with emotion. "I just want to know the truth."
Raj squeezes her hand gently, his heart heavy with the weight of her sorrow. "I promise you, Mrs. Roy, we will find the answers you seek."
With the post-mortem examination underway, Raj and Naresh wait anxiously outside the examination room, their nerves on edge as they anticipate the results. Time seems to stretch on endlessly as they wait for news, the tension in the air palpable. As the minutes tick by, Raj and Naresh decide to take a brief walk outside to clear their heads. They stroll along the winding paths of the village, their footsteps echoing in the quiet afternoon air.
"So, what do you make of all this, Naresh?" Raj asks, breaking the silence that hangs between them. Naresh furrows his brow in thought, his mind grappling with the complexities of the case. "It's hard to say, dada (Bengalis call their elder brother "dada". This word is also used to respectfully address any male who may not your brother but is slightly older to you.). But something tells me there's more to Dulal's death than meets the eye."
Before Raj can respond, their conversation is interrupted by shouts of villagers echoing from a distance. They exchange a worried glance before breaking into a run, their instincts telling them that trouble is brewing. As they reach the area where the commotion is coming from, they find villagers gathered on balconies, their faces etched with fear and concern. "What's going on?" Raj asks, his voice urgent. One of the villagers speaks, his eyes wide with alarm. "Be careful son, the man-eater leopard was just seen in the area," he says, his voice trembling. "It was walking on this road a minute ago, then jumped off the wall into the tea garden the other side."
Raj and Naresh exchange a grim look, knowing that the presence of the leopard only adds another layer of danger to their already fraught investigation. With a shared sense of determination, they steel themselves for the challenges that lie ahead, knowing that the pursuit of justice will not be easy in a village plagued by fear and uncertainty. The leopard luckily hadn't attacked anyone this time. The reason could be that if was scared to do the same because there were so many people around. Raj and Naresh walk back to the hospital mortuary's post mortam examination room.
After around three hours, finally the door to the examination room opens, and Inspector Sharma emerges, his expression grave. "Raj, Naresh, we need to talk," he says, his voice solemn. Raj's heart sinks as he follows Inspector Sharma into a secluded corner, his mind racing with apprehension. "I'm afraid the results of the post-mortem are conclusive," Inspector Sharma says, his voice heavy with regret. "Dulal's death was not the result of a leopard attack. It was a deliberate act of murder."
Naresh's hand flyingto his mouth in shock. "But who would do such a thing?" he asks, hisvoice trembling with anger. Raj's jaw tightens with determination as heconsiders the implications of this revelation. "We'll find out, NareshBabu, Vickey Saha needs to be interrogated by the police." he vows, hiseyes blazing with determination. "No matter what it takes, we will bringDulal's killers to justice." With newfound resolve, Raj sets out touncover the truth behind Dulal's murder, his unwavering determination drivinghim ever forward in his quest for justice. For he knows that only byconfronting the darkness that lurks within Jalapuranagar can he hope to bringclosure to Dulal's grieving loved ones and restore peace to the embattledvillage.
