Vera was watching them closely.
Just as she thought about greeting the strangers, she froze.

Suddenly, the lines with glowing eyes bit into them.
Luckily, they didn't see her, and they walked away.

She quickly took their supplies and ran into the forest.
There was nothing she could have done-the lines were just too fast.

Besides, Vera had no idea how to use her katana.
Taking out her phone, Vera searched, "How to use a katana."

She realized there was no internet connection, but strangely, an open browser already had information on it.
Someone must have looked it up on her phone before.

She clicked on the page and began reading the article.
As the sun began to set, Vera made a fire using two sticks.

She decided she would start training tomorrow.
As she began to fall asleep, she put out the fire.

Soon after, she drifted off into sleep, surrounded by the midnight shadows.
