Days, weeks, months...eventually turned into years. I remained the same as I stayed where I was with Scar and Zazu. Every now and then, Anakin would check in on me to see if I was okay. That was a comforting thought as I (clad in my baby blue pajamas) lay on Scar's stomach, quietly praying for hope. One thing I noticed was that Anakin now had the scepter for the time being. I silently worried for uncle Joshua. What if he was hurt? Or worse? Questions for another time, perhaps. He would also check on me but this time, it was Anakin.
Scar had been gnawing on a bone while I lay there, my promise to all of my loved ones kept in my heart.
Nobody knows the trouble I've seen
Nobody knows my sorrow...Zazu sadly sung in his cage."Oh, Zazu, do lighten up. Sing something with a little bounce in it." Scar suggested, tossing what remained of the bone at the cage.
It's a small world after all...Zazu sarcastically sang out.
"NO! NO. ANYTHING but that!" Scar screeched.
"Well then, what do you suggest?" Anakin snapped.
"He did say something bouncy, Ani." I chimed in quickly to ease the situation. At times, I would have to be the referee and the calm one.
I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts
Deedeeleedee and there they are a standing in a row...Zazu sang.Big ones, small ones
Some as big as your head! Scar sang with Zazu while holding a skeleton of what remained of a gazelle."Oh, I would never have to do this for Mufasa." Zazu groaned.
"WHAT?! What did you say?!"At this, Scar lunged at Zazu and got in his face. I rolled off of him, trembling and scared. And I crawled to Anakin, panicked.
"Erm, nothing!" Zazu squawked.
"You know the law: NEVER EVER mention THAT NAME in my presence! I AM THE KING!!!" Scar snarled at Zazu as his snout knocked Zazu's cage.
"Yes, sire! You are the King! I only mentioned it to illustrate the differences in your royal managerial approaches!" Zazu explained quickly.
"Honest to the Force, it was the slip of the tongue, your majesty." Anakin defended the hornbill. I just silently nodded, still scared.
I felt Scar's tail gently brush my cheek to let me know that he didn't mean to scare me. I smiled, reassured.
"Hey, boss!" Banzai's angry voice called from outside the cave.
"Ohh, what is it this time?" Scar drawled annoyed.
Banzai, Shenzi and Ed entered into the cave to talk to Scar.
"We got a bone to pick with you!" Banzai snapped.
"What's the matter?" I asked.
"I'll handle this...Scar, there's no food, no water." Shenzi reported.
"Yeah! It's dinner time, and we ain't got no stinkin' entrees!" Banzai added angrily.
"What?! Is it true?" I worried.
"I'm afraid it's true, baby girl." Shenzi said to me sadly.
I would like to see for myself but how can I if I'm cooped up? I thought sadly. Anakin placed a comforting hand on my back.
"It's the lionesses job to do the hunting." Scar lazily replied.
"Yeah, but they won't go hunt!" Banzai protested.
