"It's 4am!" Yunhui whined as her fists knocked against the wooden door across from her own. Her voice was cracking from being woken up so early on a Monday. The last thing she needed was an argument with Jaehyun

"Can you keep it d—" her statement was cut off when the door swung open, revealing Jaehyun with his robe tied around his own body, hair disheveled and eyes dead with tiredness.

Without another second wasted, his hand grabbed her wrist as it remained in the air from her incessant knocking, pulling her body with him as he angrily stomped down the apartment corridor. She widened her eyes at his actions, her feet quickly trying to keep up with his long strides until he stopped by a door, almost making her bump into his side.

Apartment 4.c

This time, for once, it was Jaehyun who was the irritated neighbour, fisting his hand and pounding a few hard knocks against the door infront of him in hopes that someone would open up.

"Don't be so harsh!" She hissed from beside him and he sent a glare her way

"As if you were nice to me" he said and she rolled her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest. She began to feel a headache grow along with the loudening bangs on the door until the lock finally clicked open. The door slowly revealed a man, just about their age wearing a sleeveless white tank top with quite a few tattoos to show off

"Hey" he said, his deep voice bringing her back to reality and she really hated the way her knees got weaker at the sound of it

"Hey, could you shut—"

"Hi, I'm Yunhui. I live next door, are you new here?" She said, her irritated frown now turning into a wide smile, with heart eyes nearly taking over, as she lightly shoved Jaehyun to the side to make herself more known to the extremely hot neighbour that just moved in. Jaehyun scoffed from beside her, noticing the quick switch up and difference in treatment

Why didn't she do that to me?

"Yeah...me and my wife moved in last night and we just started unpacking" he replied with a smile, opening the door a little more wider

Hah! He has a wife! Suck it, Yunhui

"I see..." Yunhui said, cowering back a little and avoiding the glare Jaehyun was still sending her

"Well, can you and your wife please keep it down—it's 4 in the morning and I have to go to work and my kid needs her sleep—"

"Jaehyun—"

"Like seriously, who the hell needs to unpack at 4 in the morning—"

Says the guy that was unpacking until 2am...

"Jaehyun—"

"What?" He hissed, finally cutting off his rant and turning to Yunhui who awkwardly smiled at him and nudged him a few times to quieten down

"She's pregnant." Yunhui said through gritted teeth, her smile still peering through until Jaehyun turned his head to see the woman who was peering behind the man, her stomach protruding out of her maternity shirt.

"I'm so sorry for waking you up. This little guy has a sleep schedule of his own and we just wake up whenever he does. I promise we'll keep it down—honey we can unpack later right?" The woman said with a sheepish smile

"Yeah of course, sorry for bothering you" the man said and Jaehyun dropped his tense shoulders

"No it's okay, I'm sorry for being rude" he apologised quickly

"Yeah...we both live on this floor so ring us if you need any help. I'm Yunhui, by the way. I've got a little guy at home too so trust me, I know what you're going through" she said, waving at them to introduce herself

"I'm Haerin and this is my husband Johnny, it's nice to meet you" she replied with a smile

"Jaehyun" the grumpy neighbour finally said, scratching the nape of his neck at the awkward first impression

"I'm in 4.b so...if you ever need anything—you know the drill" Jaehyun said, turning on his heel and walking back down to hallway

"Sorry about him...he usually has a good temper—I'm the rude one" Yunhui said with a light chuckle and Haerin smiled warmly

"You guys seem very welcoming, don't worry. I thought you were both together" Haerin said with a sly smile and Johnny rolled his eyes

"Alright, I'll leave you ladies to talk this one out" he said, nodding to Yunhui in acknowledgment before heading away

"No, he's just another single parent that is surprisingly nicer than I thought he was...but uh...we have our rough patches" she said with an awkward laugh and Haerin giggled

"Well I would snatch him up quickly before someone else does—that is one fine man—"

"I can still hear you, you know?" Johnny's voice said from the living room and the two women giggled

"We should definitely chat over some wine another night—or maybe some water instead" Yunhui said, looking down to her bump and remembering she was talking to a pregnant woman

"Sounds good, I'll catch you later Yunhui" Haerin smiled warmly before closing the door. Yunhui rushed back to her apartment, but of course, Satan's spawn had to stop her in her tracks.

"You were gonna flirt with him" Jaehyun said with a smirk on his face, although they both looked like they could melt into a bed in the next second

"I—what—no I wasn't—"

"You're a bad flirt, but you're worse at lying" he said with a chuckle and she rolled her eyes

"I wasn't flirting. I was just trying to be nice" she corrected and he rolled his eyes, knowing she was stubborn no matter what

"Yeah well...try be nice to me sometime too" he said, and with that, he closed to the door leaving her stuck by her own.

Wait...was he asking me to flirt with him—oh shut it and get your ass back to bed already!
