Our Little Secret [Bbangsaz]

-Chapter 6-

Minji.

Even though October is considered one of the longer months, it only felt like 2 weeks so far.

The leaves changed color fairly slowly, and I only consider it to be October when the leaves are falling; which still hasn't happened.

Anyway, I decided to walk outside to my  next class, not wanting to smell the boys from PE.

I find myself more zoned out than usual, and the only person to blame is...Hanni.

Hyein told me that Hanni is trying to befriend her and it's grinding my gears a little.

What does she want to do with Hyein?

As a matter of fact, everything this week has pissed me off.

At lunch yesterday Gabe gave everyone stupid nicknames.

Haerin's nickname was cat eyes, because she resembles a cat, Hyein was a Giraffe, which is fair considering her height, and mine was...a fish.

Like what part of me looks like a fish? I was hoping he would say bear, or something cute.

But a FISH?!

And right after I got indirectly but directly insulted, stupid cat and dumb giraffe started to nag me about going to the Halloween party.

And you wanna know the best part? They don't even want me to go.

They want me to be their drop off and pick up person.

"You're too uptight to party." this and  "go study or something" that. Like can we stop ganging up on Minji?

I lose my train of thought when I feel someone's shoulder connect with mine.

I looked behind me to see who it was, and not to my surprise, it was Hanni.

She had a certain look on her face, but it was hard to describe her expression or tell what she was thinking.

That's...not normal. Hanni is probably the most readable person ever.

But this time I seriously couldn't tell what was going on in her head.

I keep walking, my feet now on autopilot while I make inferences on what that face meant.

Afterschool, me, Haerin, and Hyein decided to meet up at Haerin's house to work on some random paperwork for chemistry.

We were all sprawled out on the floor, papers and pencils everywhere, talking about anything and everything.

Haerin suddenly sits up, scratching her nape.

"Do you guys know the name of that girl who's like, best friends with Hanni?"

Me and Hyein both sit up as well, giving Harein a questioning look.

"I think her name is Danielle." i say, rubbing my eyes.

Hyein adds on to my sentence, a smirk smeared across her face. "Why? Do you have a crush or something?"

Haerin's face immediately got red. "Uh- No- I just- uhm."

Me and Hyein burst into laughter, but are suddenly muffed by pillows meeting our faces.

"Guys! Stop laughing. I was asking for...a friend," Haerin says, grumpily glaring at us with her arms crossed.

I take the pillow off of my face, allowing myself to talk. "Right. Let me guess, their name starts with Hae and ends with rin"

As I continue my laughing fit, Haerin suddenly has a smile on her face, and it's not the happy, innocent kind. More like she's up to something, or planning something mischievous.
