Daddy Jake and baby Tristian in the media.

Christian

I hear crying over my head and I tried to turn my head to the noise. But I couldn't. I tried to open my eyes to see who was crying. But I couldn't. I tried to move my hand to the person. But I couldn't.

It seemed like everything I wanted to do was out of my reach, and it was frustrating. I'm conscious! I wanted to scream. Somebody please!

Great. Now I'm stuck here, probably looking sleep and can't do anything about it. Now would be a great moment to panic but I don't have it in me. I can't open my mouth to yell or flail my arms around. There's no use.

I guess I'm going back to sleep.

......

"What the hell are you doing here? Get out! And you, too! Can't I get a break, dammit?" An angry female voice yelled.
"I'm trying to say I'm sorry! Why can't you get that through your thick skull?" An equally pissed off male voice replied.
"Well, too bad for you because I don't give a fuck. Lose my number, bitch. And you, stay the fuck away from Christian. You met him. There. You should be happy now, right?" The female voice said viciously.

A more accented voice tried to calmly respond but the female wasn't having it.

"I apologize for not being in your life. Things with me and your mother didn't work out and I moved away here. I tried to contact you but your mother wouldn't give me anything on your location or phone numbers or--"
"You know what? I'm done. Get out, both of you. And if you come back, I'm calling security. Now go!" She commanded.
"I'm sorry, Tristian." The heavily accented voice whispered before I heard his fading footsteps.

I suppose the other person is still here. I know Tristian won't be happy about that with the way she was talking to him.

"What are you still doing here?" She questioned.
"I'm going to try this one more time. I'm sorry, let's please start over." The other man pleaded with a hint of a threat in his tone.
"I'm going to try this one more time. Get the fuck out. Now," she said snidely.
"Okay. But you'd better watch it, Tristian. I'm always around." He murmured evilly.

I tried moving around again at the threat and it worked a little but it was better than nothing. My arm moved and I heard footsteps coming towards me. I decided to try my eyes and it worked, too! I blinked a couple times before Tristian's tearful face came into focus. She choked back a sob and grabbed the water on the counter before I could even try to ask. Lifting it up to my mouth, I parted my lips as the water flowed down my throat like a refreshing river.

"T-thank you, baby," I croaked out playfully.

She managed a tearful laugh before giving me a light hug around the torso. I could tell she was holding back because I was in the hospital and she didn't want to harm me further. But I didn't mind until I tried to sit up. Excruciating pain rushed through me and I yelled.

Tristian looked beyond panicked and kept pressing a red button on some remote connected to my bed. A minute later, a doctor and a nurse came in. They saw my pained face and the nurse rushed over and slumped me back down like I was before, then handed me some pills.

The doctor introduced himself as Dr. Michael Smith and the nurse, Melissa Dierre. (A/N - Well, well, well. Guest appearance, I see.)

"You're a very lucky young man, Christian. Your legs were almost completely crushed in that accident. Then with cars going around 70-75 miles per hour on a highway, it's a miracle you even lived with that kind of impact. But you did, thankfully and we will be getting you into physical therapy as soon as your legs heal." Dr. Smith said.

After they gave us the rundown of everything, they finally left and Tristian and I were alone.

"You and I had some unexpected visitors today." She said with a huff.
"Who were they?" I asked curiously.
"Well." She hesitated. "One of them was Dad, and the other one was that boy that I met at Panera Bread when I forgot about my classes." She explained.
"What did he want?" I asked.
"He tried to keep apologizing to me for sending me weird text messages so he came to the hospital and found me. But get this- I never told him where I was. Not once. That is creepy as hell. On God, I'm going to get a new number when you get out of here." She promised.
"What kind of creepy messages was he sending you?"

She took out her phone and let me read them and each one became worse than the last. Then something caught my attention and that was the profile pic. I clicked it and I realized something.

"Tristian?" I asked carefully.
"Yeah?"
"This was the guy staring at you at dinner 2 days ago."

Y'all like what I did there? Putting Dr. Mike in this story? You don't understand? Well, go read "The CEO's Side Chick" then come back and fangirl about how he's in another story. I like tying everything together in most of my books.
