Astrid glanced over her shoulder at the silhouette of Bard, who was sound asleep. Slow and steady, she slid out from the thick animal skin covering and tiptoed her way out of the dark room. One torch was burning on a wall, producing a dim, flickering glow. The embers from the fire pit were still glowing orange while several people slept peacefully beside the pit. Astrid made her way through the dimly lit throne room and exited the house.
She moved at a fast pace through the dead village, using the illuminating moon as her guiding light.
*I am sorry, readers but at the moment something has happened to this chapter and deleted. I promise I am working on reconstructing this chapter. Until it is up again, the summary is below.
Astrid gets in a fight with Bard because she left the house throughout the night without his permission. He gets really disgruntled with her and threatens to beat her. She goes and talks with Erika and Igor about what she should do to get away. Once she comes back to Bard's longhouse, some of his men attack her, dragging her to the square where she is beaten by Bard because of their disagreements. Erika and Igor take her back to their home where they continue to care for Astrid...
I hope you will continue reading. The rest of the chapters are there and ready to be read. Sorry for this minor inconvenience, I hope to have it fixed very soon.
Thanks once again.
