Third person's pov
The farewell was the most emotional moment for Emma. She's leaving the mansion she brought up in. The place has so many memories and now living somewhere else is indeed a tough job for her.
After promising to meet often with her family, Emma leaves with Ian.
The car drive is filled with comfortable silence. Emma and Ian sitting in the back seat, they are moving to Ian's private penthouse where they'll live and it's gonna be Emma's first time there.
She looks at herself in her selfie camera and wipes away the dry tears and looks up to Ian who was sitting with his eyes closed beside her.
“Is he asleep?” Emma mutters to herself but is instantly proven wrong when he opens his eyes. But his gaze is different.
Fear?
Is Ian scared of something?
He holds Emma's hand and closes his eyes again.
“What's wrong?” Emma asks, with a concerned expression. Moving closer to her husband.
“I'm- I'm scared of car rides.” Ian says, his hold tightening on Emma's hands.
Then she realises that she never saw Ian driving, but she never gave it a thought before because mostly billionaires don't drive by themselves. Emma releases her hand from Ian's hold and intertwines their fingers.
“Look at me.” Emma whispers and Ian obliges, “If you'll focus on me, nothing else will matter.”
Ian has been scared of car rides for a long time, it gives him panic attacks so he closes his eyes whenever he sits in a car.
Opening his eyes inside a car for the first time after a long time because of Emma, he feels all his anxiety vanish away because now he is lost in Emma's dark chocolate eyes.
It's not like Ian has never seen a girl prettier than Emma. He has seen many girls who are prettier than Emma and who has the prettiest eyes with rarest colours.
There's always someone prettier, but you are the prettiest for the person you love
So for him Emma is the most beautiful girl and behind those eyelids there's a pair of the most beautiful eyes, he has ever observed. Maybe because he has seen a spark in Emma's eyes that he has never seen in anybody else's. Emma is imprinted in Ian's heart and soul and no one can change the fact, if it was to vanish away, it could've been by now.
Ian finds himself lost whenever he stares at Emma's eyes. No one has ever been able to have that much effect on him. And yeah, it's Emma we’re talking about who stole Ian's heart away in a single moment after meeting.
Lost in her eyes, Ian didn't even realise when they reached his penthouse. He bought his own place three years ago because he wanted to stay away from the people who gave birth to him, yeah his parents. Parents who loved him but also played a part in destroying him, that he couldn't forget ever.
“See, it was easy. We're here already.” Emma exclaims and Ian chuckles.
“Your eyes can do wonders, love.” Ian says and Emma smiles sheepishly. They get out of the car and the driver takes out Emma's luggage and follows behind them.
“Wow it's fucking amazing, Ian!” Emma exclaims, taking in the view of the lavish penthouse.
“Come on, let's get in.”
Ian opens the door by entering the code and pushes open the door. Emma gasps because it looks so vintage and aesthetic unlike Ian's personality. She expected his house to be dark themed and intimidating but it has a soft and warm vibe.
