Third person's pov

Scared

Yeah, Ian feels scared for the first time in life… No, actually for the second time. Scared to lose the only thing he has, his love. A completely foreign feeling yet familiar to him. When he saw the fury in Emma's eyes when she saw what the room actually has, he didn't want her to see that. He only wants to see one emotion in Emma's eyes and that's love. Pure love.

Although he knows that his love for Emma is completely unmatchable, he still wants to see a little bit of love in those pairs of orbs which hold his entire universe. He wants fear for him in everyone's eyes but he craves to see anything but fear in Emma's eyes. He finds himself falling all over again whenever his gaze locks with Emma's---his world stops whenever his lips meet hers and he feels like he's holding the whole world when he holds Emma in his embrace.

If a single word can define his feelings for Emma that's, universe---his universe. He knows he holds a place in Emma's heart but practically it's not him who holds that place in heart, it was never him from very the start and the fact hurts him, it always does. He's never himself around Emma, it's like he's pretending to be someone else and Emma likes that side of him not the true side of him.

Cooling himself down with a turmoil of thoughts lingering in his mind, a stark contrast to his expressions which are always stable, he enters his home.

He saw Emma watching tv with a curious expression, he steps inside and smiles when he sees Emma is watching a cartoon show which he doesn't recognize or know. Feeling someone's presence Emma looks at his direction and smiles as if the morning scene didn't happen. She pats next to her, gesturing to him to sit. Ian keeps his car keys and blazer on a little shelf near the couch and sits next to his wife. He pulls Emma closer by her waist, she rests her head on her husband's shoulder with a sigh.

“I'm sorry, love. I didn't mean to yell at you. Anger got the best of me.” Ian utters, kissing her head.

“I'm sorry too. I opened that door. But can I ask you something?” Emma asks, tilting her head facing her husband. Ian nods.

“Why did you stalk me?” Emma asks. Ian sighs, “I-I wanted to know everything about you. I was serious when I said that I wanted you.” Ian says.

“Oh, like that kinda stuff where the male lead stalks the female lead with whom he's obsessed with?” Emma asks with an innocent expression.

“Sort of. I agree I'm obsessed with you but believe me I love you crazily, love. More than you could think of---more than I could ever explain.” Emma feels herself losing her mind because of the raw emotions displaying in Ian's eyes. His eyes held all the honesty in them that words could never explain.

Emma hums, “One more question.” Ian nods, feeling a pang because he didn't get to listen to those three words from Emma that he's been dying to hear, for a very long time.

“That---that code stands for someone's birthday, isn't it?” Emma asks, gulping noticing the sudden change in Ian's expression. His jaw clenches and he looks away, trying not to snap. He wants to know who is feeding Emma with these informations because Emma have no ways to figure out these stuff that he buried many years ago. He nods faintly, unable to lie like always.

“Who's it?” Emma asks. Ian looks at her again, his eyes showing millions of hidden emotions as if he's replaying something that gives him pain. It always does give him pain no matter how much time passes. It's a permanent scar in his heart that'll never fade.

“Someone very important to me. Someone who was an inseparable part of me, but got separated taking away my everything. Now don't ask me who it is, I can't answer that. I just--can't.” Emma feels a strange sadness that's radiating from Ian, she could feel it. She nods in understanding.

“Is---is it someone before me? A lover? Just answer me yes or no, I'll not push you further.” Emma whispers, trying to lift off her insecurity.

“What? No! You're my first love. First person whom I trusted after that person whom I lost. You're the only one I have now. So---I stalked you. I'll not give you a pathetic excuse that I did it just to keep you protected and all. Yeah, it was indeed a reason too but the other reason was to keep an eye on you. I don't know why but I've always wanted your presence near me, be it your photos.” Ian utters.

Emma finds herself confused between her emotions. Is she supposed to feel fear because of Ian's insanity towards her or warmth because of Ian's honesty and love towards her.

She shifts closer and sits on Ian's lap. His hands are already finding their way towards Emma's waist. She hugs him, ruffling his hair softly.

“You are not alone, Ian. You have me. I don't know who that person is. But I surely know their importance in your life. I can't take their place in your life but I assure you'll have me by your side, always.”

Ian softly pulls her from the embrace, looking deep into her eyes searching for any lie, “always?” Emma hums and pecks his lips and hums, “always.” And with that their lips met exchanging a secret promise.

Pouring all the love and care in the form of a kiss. Their lips moving in a sync as if they're just made for each other and indeed they're…. They are made for each other, in a relationship of love and marriage.

Ian pecked Emma's lips for one last time before going to freshen up. Emma takes her phone but freezes when she sees the message.

Unknown: Did you see the ‘contents’ in that room, friend?

Emma: I did. It's my pictures that Ian secretly took all these years.

Unknown: And you're okay with it?

Emma: No, but I can't mess up now. I need to know further, if I'll just fight with Ian it won't lead to anything.

Unknown: Smart move indeed. Now your next task is to wait for two months and follow your husband's action on that day. 19th July, you'll get all your answers. Till then enjoy your honeymoon, my friend ;)

Emma frowned. Honeymoon?

Her thoughts were interrupted when Ian walks in the hall with towel hanging around his shoulder.

“Agh love, I completely forgot about it. We're going for honeymoon in Paris for two weeks. You know media is making up rumours that we're not going to honeymoon so it means we don't love each other and it's just a business collaboration for money. Besides you love Paris, don't you?” Ian asks with a smile and Emma nods excitedly, ignoring the thought that how did the unknown person knew about it.
