Our forces had arrived at Kars Holn, where Admiral Rampart engaged the Ork fleets in void combat while General Veers and Commissar Romanov (Alexandra) were rallying the Regiment in a Siege against the Ork forces on the ground. I appreciated the fact that Alexandra could fight. She had a Chainsword, and killed two Nobs after extremely close-ranged fighting. Veers, meanwhile, engaged the Ork defenses by sieging them into gravel.

Others rushed forward, and I soon spotted siege guns and heavy artillery pounding at Ork Stompas, and some Warhound-Class Titans engaged them, in the usual pack formations. The Cadian War was an unexpected hurdle probably designed for me and the Imperium to test us in the face of doom. A group of Fellblades and Rogal Dorn Tanks were in the fray, killing Ork Tanks and Warbuggies. Several Ork Warbikes tried to best us with speed, only to be destroyed by Land Raiders that stood like a defensive wall against Orkoid offenses.

My team was doing very well: as orbital bombardment destroyed defenses, the squad worked their hardest to arrive at the positions where Humie-Killa was supposed to appear. Rigel and Judas were sniping everything ranging from Grots to Nobs, and Galen provided us useful information on Ork positioning, sniping head. Percy was taking cover to heal anyone necessary, Val blew apart all her opponents using her psychic might, Olga rallied forces locally, Brutus covered the back, and Cassius the front, Claudia the left, and Cyrus the right. We had entered the wreckage of a building, all of us, and apparently Alexandra was following us with her own team. My friend the Tech-Priest Matthias followed us (having unofficially become a part of the squad), if only to get things working, his equipment and gear helping us immensely.

There were few Astartes around, a combination of Iron Hands, Silver Skulls and (strangely) Lamenters. The Lamenters especially were useful, because with their bad luck they drew all the major threats on the field to them, getting very unfortunately nearly wiped out en masse by the Ork threats.

Overall, the entire fight was ridiculous. There were no Sisters of Battle here, and literally the only Astartes here were the ones who had already joined the Operation, and Lamenters. Rampart, Veers, Inquisitor Hiram (Octavian), were already part of the war once it started. It was almost like somebody was hoping we lost. Were the people who wanted to kill me so stupid that they would risk the Cadian system, one of the most important places in the Imperium? But again... 40K Imperials were dumb, so... it was basically launching a nuke to kill a fly, but...

Anyway, Khal and Karamazov would be flayed alive and then spit on for this insult.

I quickly got into position where I was supposed to be: it was close to a colossal, destroyed fortress which had been destroyed by Rampart's orbital bombardment, as per the plan. The Chieftain was supposed to emerge any minute now. I subtly made it so my entire squad and all the key figures in the field (major Astartes, Veers, Alexandra) were unaffected by enemy fire. It takes time to create this shield. Yes, I could do that. Everyone took up their rifles and bolters to kill the hostile leader upon arrival.

And then...

"WAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"

Humie-Killa had arrived. "OI HUMIES, YEH DIE TODAY, UNDERZTAN'?! WHERE ARE YEH..." he looked around, seeing a few Iron Hands engage the Ork in battle. Just then, we opened fire, carefully aiming for the Ork as he remained engaged in combat.

With sheer strength, Humie-Killa threw off two of the Astartes and killed a third by stabbing it through the stomach, before tackling the other four. He ripped off a helmet, stabbing the Marine and pulling his brains out. I heard distinct sounds of vomiting at this. The other three were joined by the two, and there was a massive dogfight, upon which two marines were lying on the ground, guts ripped out, and another had his head torn off. Another rushed at Humie-Killa, but he was tired and torn in half. The last one, aided by our gunfire, fought for some time, but he was also overpowered and killed.
