Okay guys, from today I promise to post within 7 days. Please tell me what you think about the chapter...
Matt
After talking to Sarah, I decided to leave her alone for a bit. When the police were notified that Sarah was safe and at the hospital, they wanted to get a statement from her but the doctors said that she had suffered serious brain trauma and it was not advisable that the patient be approached. At the time all of this happened, Sarah was still unconscious and fresh out of surgery. Now that she was awake I needed to make sure the police didn't come up to her and ask what happened or else the already messy situation would get worse.
I walked up to the waiting area and saw a guy in uniform sitting there. Sarah's surgeon was speaking to him, probably telling him that she was awake. I should have known. When Sarah woke up, the surgeon took me aside and told me to let her know if something wasn't right or if I was concerned about anything, she also told me that she would be allowing the police to come in after a half hour. Guess that time was up. I had already told the police that I found Sarah on the highway, but I doubted that it was a believable story since it happened so fast. Within less than 24 hours of the kidnapping, Sarah was already being rushed to the operation theater.
What could I possibly tell Sarah? That she should lie to the police officer? That if she didn't then she would be in grave danger herself? I couldn't find it in me to just walk upto her after such a horrendous thing had happened. So I didn't. I saw the doctor walking with him towards Sarah's room but my feet remained planted to the ground. This was Sarah's decision. I had told her almost everything already. Now all I needed to do was wait.
Sarah
My head reeled from all the information Matt had just blurted out. It seemed so unreal. My mother died? He didn't mention a word about my father. Don't fathers protect their kids and wives? Where was mine? Matt would have told me if my father was dead. Did I have any siblings?
The most important question of all boomed in my head - Was this all worth it? I didn't remember them - My Family. Bryan would keep coming after me until I gave him what he desired. What if I told him that I am ready to give him what he wants and then it 'accidentally' gets destroyed? That would probably be convenient...
Before I could complete my thoughts a policeman came in the room. The lady who had checked on me earlier came towards me and spoke up, "Sarah, This is Officer Patrick. He would like to know what happened to you...", fear gripped my heart, what was going to happen to me? What was I supposed to tell him? How could I just trust him with my life?
Noticing the apprehension on my face, the doctor quickly added, "He's here to help you. Just relax and be yourself, he's very friendly and I'm right across the hall if you need me". After she was done talking she gave me a reassuringly and walked out. I was left alone with the police officer. A man.
"How are you feeling?", the officer asked trying to be friendly.
"Fine" I replied quickly.
"You got a lot of bandages."
"I don't remember what happened to me. You really don't need to act nice. The man hit me and I went blank. Before that he tied me up and I almost escaped but not really because he caught me again. And my head's hurting now". I ranted and then my eyes welled up with tears.
"Its ok. You can go at your own pace. Calm down." He said, observing my panting.
"That's...all I..... can tell you", I gasped between breaths. I was hyperventilating now.
Why was this happening now? It wasn't happening when I spoke to Matt. Were the painful memories triggering this...
The last thing I saw was the doctor's concerned face in front of me before my body went limp...

I was just walking towards Sarah's room with a bagel in my hand when I saw doctor's rushing inside. Panic seized me as I rushed to her room and tried to enter, but another doctor stopped me.Sarah was coding. I couldn't lose her. She was my only reason for existence, if she wasn't there then I would die. That's when I made my decision. I was going to take Nicholas' advice once Sarah was stabilized.
Luckily they were able to get her back to normal within a couple of hours. I went in her room and kissed her hand. She looked so disturbed even in her sleep like she was having a bad dream. My heart felt so heavy like someone put a boulder on it. I whispered in her ear, "I'm there for you". The moment I said that her face appeared calmer and it just felt good to see her get more relaxed, a huge grin crept on my face as I shook my head and walked out of the room like a love struck idiot.
I had called up a friend-from-work of Sarah's earlier and told her that Sarah was in the hospital and asked if she would look after her. I didn't want to compromise her safety at any cost, especially when she was already in such a fragile state. Natalie - Sarah's friend agreed instantly and was just nearing the door when I came out. She was a nice girl with an olive-complexion and black hair. She had a motherly aura which was just perfect, Sarah needed someone to calm her down.
"Hi Natalie!", I greeted her with a widespread grin on my face, I was still so excited to see Sarah smile in her sleep that the smile was just not going away.
"Hi Matt", she replied slowly, probably wondering how I could smile when my love was in the hospital.
"Thanks so much for agreeing to look after Sarah, how are things going at work?"
"Everything's okay, though I do miss Sarah...I just can't believe she could be so clumsy to get hurt on her head so bad. I mean, having amnesia is no joke you know. It's really serious." Natalie said with a concerned look on her face.
I had lied to Natalie regarding Sarah's condition, but I obviously couldn't tell her the truth. I took adeep breath and spoke up, "Yeah, its taking a huge toll on all of us. I guess I'll see you in a few hours? Thanks again for coming."
"No worries! I can be here till 10 so take your time."
I smiled gratefully at Natalie and quickly left the hospital. I had told Bryan to meet me at a cafe at 5 so I needed to hurry.
