On the morning of their university visit, Riya felt a mix of anticipation and anxiety. Meera had reassured her all week, but stepping onto the vast campus felt like stepping into a whole new world. It was a busy day, with students bustling across the grounds, laughing, talking, and hurrying to their next class. Riya's heart raced; this was the moment she had worked so hard for, but it felt surreal.

As they walked towards the admissions office, Meera suddenly stopped. "Look over there!" she said, eyes lighting up. Riya followed her gaze and saw a tall woman striding toward them with authority—Miss Reddy, the dean of the nursing program.

"Riya! How wonderful to finally meet you!" Miss Reddy’s voice was warm, but there was an underlying strength in her presence. "I've heard so much about you from Meera. Welcome to our campus."

Riya smiled shyly, her nerves a little steadier with the reassurance of Meera's familiar face beside her. "Thank you! I’m really excited to be here," she said, trying to hold back the whirlwind of emotions inside.

• A Chat with Miss Reddy -

They settled into Miss Reddy’s office, a cozy space lined with diplomas, family photos, and framed moments of nursing graduates in action. The room felt welcoming, yet there was a quiet professionalism in the air.

"The nursing program here is not for the faint-hearted," Miss Reddy said, her eyes serious, yet encouraging. "It’s rigorous, but incredibly rewarding. You’ll be pushed to your limits, both academically and emotionally. But if you stay the course, you’ll graduate as someone who can make a real difference."

Riya nodded, already imagining herself working tirelessly in hospitals, making life-changing decisions.

"What should I expect on the first day?" Riya asked, her voice tinged with curiosity

"What should I expect on the first day?" Riya asked, her voice tinged with curiosity.

"Expect to be overwhelmed," Miss Reddy said with a chuckle. "But don’t worry, we’ll guide you every step of the way. Orientation will introduce you to the campus, your classmates, and the resources available. The most important thing, however, is to build connections. Join clubs. Get involved. Nursing is a career that thrives on teamwork."
