A familiar stranger

I was talking to Kakashi on our way back home. It took a few days to finish the bridge. Apparently after I collapsed the man who hired Zabuza showed uo and tried to finish what he started. Thankfully though Naruto managed to get the villagers to help and they took care of the man. "So who helps you?" I glance at Sasuke. "My friend and his Family. They are part of my clan since the beginning and every generation my friend picks his next host." I don't say anymore because I don't feel comfortable talking about Drog. "So when you use that power it belongs to one of them?" I look at Naruto when he asked. "Yea when I have their help I become one with them and so their personality becomes one with mine." The three nod. "So that scary side of you was just one of them?" I nod again and they all visibly relax. I shrug. "Don't make me your enemy and you wo t have to worry about the Family coming after you." I laugh at their faces before rubbing my head and smirking at them. "I've been trained to lead an entire island of course I'd be strong enough to protect them." I see the boys had a bit of frustration in their eyes. We arrived home after a couple of days and I part ways with my squad. I make it to my apartment where I quickly made the house as dark as possible before turning to see Drog. "You sure it's wise to have told them?" I nod. "I know they won't hurt me besides if they try, I can always kill them." Drog nods before leaving. We got a few days to relax before Hiruzen called us back to his office. When we all arrived he told us we are heading off the mainland to assist a potential new ally. I noticed Hiruzen kept glancing at me and I was curious but I could see the old man was nervous about something. After we were dismissed I filled my tool pouch and sealed away everything else I'd need before heading to the gate. When we arrived I saw Kakashi speaking with the Hokage. "I fear he'll find out Kakashi. I'm unsure how he'll react to it." I tilt my head confused at what the Hokage means. "Well I hope he forgives us. I'll go get him." I backed away from them and made it seem like I just arrived. Both adults noticed me and I waved. I walk up to them with a smile while Drog just growled. So they were talking about me. "Good morning Lord Third as well as you Captain." Both of them smile at me. After Hiruzen left and the others arrived Kakashi explained our next mission. The Leaf had received a cry for help from an island village off the coast of the Land of Fire. "Captain what direction is this island?" Kakashi looked at me. "It's to the southwest isn't it?" I sensed Kakashi get nervous. "What's to the southwest Maxis?" I felt upset Kakashi tried to hide this from me. "My old home Naruto. We are going to where I was born." I spoke so quietly the other barely could hear me but when they did I saw the boys look at me with shock. "Yea Maxis we are going to your home." I nod a little before heading out. I didn't talk to my teammates the entire time it took us to arrive at the boat and even then I just stayed to myself. "Kakashi what happened why is Maxis like this?" I heard Naruto ask Kakashi just sighed. "Something bad Naruto it isn't my place to say." I remain quiet for three days until I notice a familiar presence. "Kakashi Sensei! There's something in the water!" I head out after hearing Naruto to see a giant shadow circling the boat. "So your still here girl?" I lean over and aftee speaking in my native tongue the shadow reveals itself to be a massive silver scaled snake that looks at me. I smile at her and she leans in closer to me. I hear the others yell at me to be careful but I just hug the snake's head. "I've missed you Miya sorry I've been gone so long." I can hear her content and I just smile before letting her go. She looked at my teammates and I giggle. "They are with me Miya." The snake goes back under water before the boat lurches and it goes in the direction Miya is taking us. "Hey where is that snake taking us!?" I turn to Naruto. "That snake has a name and Miya is taking us to the island." The others look at me and I just shrug. "Miya has been a protector of my home since our clan started. She is a sweet lady that we all call Lady Miya. She is one of the three sacred beings we worship." If my clan is gone why is she still here though? I felt a sense of dread suddenly and my heart started beating faster? "Maxis we are here." I barely hear Kakashi over my heart thundering in my chest. I follow them and I immediately feel like I'm being looked at. I feel Drog place something in my hand and I look to see it's a mask. "Wear this so they can't detect you. I don't know the people watching you." I turn before putting the mask on and I sigh. "Maxis can you take us to your village? Our client wants us to meet there." I nod to Kakashi and so they follow me. As I'm walking through the woods of my home I watch as memories of my past start to play out. Suddenly though Drog alerts me just in time for me to raise my arm to block a kunai. I look up to see a masked ninja looking at me. I grin as I let Aza take over and I twist my arm to grab theirs. I watch surprised as Aza's ability doesn't take effect. I catch the person's other fist before kicking at their feet. "How do you know my fighting style?" I hear a soft male voice before I watch Drog's arms shoot out of my shadow to grab the person. I hear my attacker gasp before jumping away and landing on a tree. "Where you going? You were bold enough to attack me when I was distracted." I do hand signs before watching as Drog's multiple arms emerge out of my shadow causing the masked figure to gasp again. "Wait those arms!" The figure jumped down and looked at me. "Maxis? Is it really you son?" I freeze at that before my heart stops when the figure takes his mask off to reveal my father's face.
