It was a Saturday, very early in the morning. Around 10 am. It is early in the books of the 2000s generation or Gen Z. Andy laid In bed for an hour. Thinking lust about anything. He pretends that he is happy for the sake of his health. Stress levels have to be as low as possible. The bad stress. Distress they called it. Eustress is the positive.
Dad finally walked in and invaded the daydreams of Andy’s mind. He was so upset that he was disturbed.
“Why didn’t you knock?”
“This is my house as well boy. Why aren’t you ready?”
“Ready for…?”
“We are going out. We are going to have some fun today!”
“Oh when did you announce this?”
“I do not recall you saying that.”
“Of course you don’t because you were hooked on your phone and you ran away to the room.”
“Why not inform me when I was in my room yesterday?”
“We thought you had some homework to do.”
“Yeah I was doing my homework, but you…”
Dad interrupts him, “There is no time to be fighting petty arguments. Get ready, we are leaving soon.”
Andy jumps out of bed and bustles around like an excited dog happy to see another dog. He made a mess everywhere. Underwears everywhere, sneakers on the bed, clothes on the floor and bed.
He took a quick shower and put on some levi’s jeans, Jordan 1s, a long t-shirt and a Miami white hat. He looked like boss. He wore like his age 18 years old to be specific. He grabbed his phone and a tripod just in case he wanted to make a vlog. Some shades because the future would be too bright.
He ran down the stairs and the family was sitting down. Precious looked at her wrist making a watch imagination to signify that he is wasting time.
“Its about time.” She said this in an annoyed tone.
Mom interjects, “Ok no need for the attitude ket us go.”
The Johnson family left the house and hoped in the car. They moved from their home in Crystal Gardens all the way to the Menlyn Mall. It was a long drive, thirty-five minutes to be exact. They passed by many businesses and organisations.
They finally arrive at the mall and it looked bigger than they remembered. Andy said, “Why does Menlyn look so big all of a sudden?”
Precious commented and said, “I heard that the way it is so big, you would have to steal something so that they show the exit. It is that big.”
“Wow I guess we won't be coming out sooner than we expected.” Mom replied.
“That does seem interesting.”Dad agreed.
They entered the mall and got a parking space around the fountain. That fountain was beautiful. It must have cost a fortune to build it.
After admiring the beauty of the new features of the mall, they head inside and decide on what to do first.
Dad laid out the events of the day, “Ok guys, we are going to do some shopping first for some new clothes, then we will go play games, then we will go and eat and I think we will call it a day.”
“What about the movie you promised me?” Andy sees that something is wrong.
“I am sorry son, we only have the budgeted money.”
Andy responded with disappointment in his face, “Ok, I guess we don’t all keep our promises.”
“Watch your tone!”
