It was a quiet Sunday afternoon when Jimin first met Minjeong. She was visiting her boyfriend, Minseok, at his family’s home, and while he’d mentioned having a younger sister, Jimin didn’t know what to expect. Her relationship with Minseok was still fresh—three months, to be exact—and this was her first time meeting his family.

The air was filled with the comforting aroma of a home-cooked meal, and as she walked in, she felt the warmth of Minseok’s hand guiding her, grounding her with every step. They’d exchanged quiet smiles throughout the day, Jimin’s heart racing each time she felt his reassuring presence.

“Jimin, I’m really happy you could meet my family today,” Minseok said, his hand lingering on her shoulder as they stood in the kitchen. He gave her a soft, affectionate look, one that had her heart racing.

“Me too,” Jimin replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Just then, the sound of footsteps interrupted their moment. A figure rounded the corner, stopping in the doorway. Jimin turned, locking eyes with Minjeong, who was standing there with a faint smirk on her lips.

“Oh,” Minseok said, grinning. “This is my sister, Minjeong.”

Minjeong’s eyes met Jimin’s with a piercing gaze, one that lingered a bit too long to be casual. She looked young, almost delicate, but there was something sharp and playful in her eyes, an edge that Jimin hadn’t expected.

“Jimin, right?” Minjeong asked, her voice smooth and slightly teasing.

“Yes,” Jimin replied, her tone polite. But there was something about Minjeong’s stare that made her feel exposed, as if Minjeong could see right through her.

Minjeong extended her hand, and as Jimin reached out to shake it, she felt a sudden jolt—a strange electricity, an inexplicable pull that made her heartbeat quicken. Minjeong’s grip lingered just a second too long before she let go, her eyes never leaving Jimin’s.

“Well, it’s nice to meet the famous girlfriend I’ve been hearing so much about,” Minjeong said, her voice laced with a hint of mockery. “I was beginning to think you were a myth.”

Jimin smiled, trying to keep her composure. “It’s nice to meet you too. Minseok’s told me a lot about you.”

Minjeong raised an eyebrow, her lips curving into a sly smile. “Oh? I hope only good things.”

There was a hint of challenge in her tone, a playful spark that caught Jimin off guard. Minseok seemed oblivious, too busy rummaging through the cabinets for snacks, but Jimin felt the tension humming between her and Minjeong like a live wire.

Throughout dinner, Minjeong’s attention never strayed far from Jimin. Each time Jimin looked up, she’d catch Minjeong’s gaze, intense and unyielding, watching her in a way that made her heart race and her skin flush. Minjeong wasn’t being obvious about it; her stares were subtle, fleeting, so much so that no one else seemed to notice.

But Jimin noticed. Every glance, every smirk, every slight tilt of Minjeong’s head was like a silent conversation, one that made her pulse quicken despite herself. She couldn’t deny the thrill of it, the strange, confusing pull she felt toward Minjeong.

After dinner, Jimin excused herself to find the bathroom, hoping a few moments alone would help her gather her thoughts. She wandered down the hallway, trying to remember which door Minseok had said led to the bathroom. As she reached for the handle of a closed door, she heard a soft voice behind her.

“Lost?”

She turned to see Minjeong leaning casually against the wall, her arms crossed, a playful gleam in her eyes.
