Summary: Will was terrible at sword fighting, but no one hurt his boyfriend and got away with it.

They were outnumbered, Nico pushed me behind him and the monsters attacked. Nico was doing well till two monsters ganged up on him as Nico struck at another one, a single monster behind him struck. Nico dodged but he landed wrong on his ankle, and it gave out from under him. Nico fell, his sword clattered to the ground next to him.

Anger bubbled dangerously under his skin. The monsters were advancing. He screamed anger and rage amplifying his voice, the monsters recoiled. He grabbed Nico's sword, and swung at the oncoming monster, it burst into dust. He sliced, hacked and stabbed cutting down monsters left and right. Nico's sword was getting colder in his grip, but he ignored it and continued fighting.

As the last monster burst in to dust, he dropped his boyfriend's sword which was as cold as ice. He was breathing heavily and his sword arm burned. He leaned against the tree nearest to them and allowed himself to catch his breath, Nico shifted on the ground.

I was about to ask about his ankle, but Nico answered before I had even voiced the question.

"I'm fine, just twisted it." He said standing. "Where did you learn to fight like that?" Nico asked, after picking up his sword.

"Mostly self-taught." I admitted, standing.

Nico stared at me. "You're kidding."

My face must have told Nico all he needed to know. He leaned forwards and kissed me gently on the cheek. His eyes found mine,

"That just makes you even more impressive."

I smiled, "Thanks. Now please let me look at your ankle."

"Fine." Nico said grumpily, though his soft smile said that he wasn't as miffed as he was portraying.
