Alex: What are ya looking at?

Tyler: Just some old photos.

Sitting on the table in front of him is a collection of old photos showing smiling kids.

Alex: Looks like all of us.

Tyler Because it is..... *sighs* God we were all so happy, even I was smiling.

Alex: You still do at times.

Tyler: Yeah, but not like I did. I think a good portion of that is just gone now. Life hits ya at a hundred miles an hour and it all just....Vanishes, like ash in the wind.

The two sat in silence.

Sometimes I don't see how I keep going on like this.

Jack and Anna were sitting in a parked car overlooking the neon lights of the city. What looked like a shining bastion against the dark was a core rotten creature that killed the weak that entered.

Jack: I've seen so many of my friends either dying or suffering and I can't do a damn thing to stop it.

Anna: It isn't your job to.

Jack: Doesn't make me feel any less shitty.

The radio was set to low and was the only noise as the two didn't say anything.

Jack: I push and push but all I'm doing is going in circles. Like time moves on but I'm stuck in a fucking purgatory.

Anna has seen Jack stare down death more times than she'd have liked him to, survived what shouldn't have been survivable. Yet she turned her head as he quietly began to cry.

I just can't keep this up much longer.

The man thought as he sat alone in front of the warm fire, it's orange glow cascading warmth onto his body.

He was battered and old, a living monument to some of humanities unending cruelty, scars littered across his body. Yet after everything he'd been through, he could no longer move. His body like stone as a constant ringing blared in his ears, sometimes being the only thing he hears.

He looked down and slowly continued to wash the blood from his hands. Another young man snuffed out because of this damned war. But he had to protect his village. Neither side gaining it would be good and his people would surely perish if they did.

Alezander: I cannot stop..... I mustn't stop. As long as they draw breath I must fight to protect them, that was our promise to her....her.

Christ, where had the time gone. The Time where the summers were warm and the winters cold but cheerful. Where the children had no fears and only dreams. Where young men and women courted, looking for true love. Where the old could sit in their chairs, content with the lives they lived.

When did time suddenly bring so much agony
