**START**

Kenneth was getting anxious.

They were now at Dr. Sebastian's clinic, and Jastine had just lain down. He had just settled in when Dr. Sebastian's wife called him. He hesitated to answer at first, but Kenneth and Jastine insisted he take the call, worried it might be an emergency.

So, Dr. Sebastian stepped out of the clinic.

"Bum, are you okay? Gusto mo magpa-BP? Looks like your blood is not circulating na, look o, ang putla-putla mo na." he said.

Kenneth pulled up the blanket until it reached Jastine's chest. "Grabe, hindi ko na alam bum, parang sasabog yung puso ko." he murmured, his voice filled with a mix of excitement and vulnerability. He took Jastine's hand and placed it on his chest, directly over his heart. "Here, feel it."

"Bum," he chuckled lightly, "Ano ba yan, parang may jackhammer sa chest mo ah."

He let out a long, heavy sigh. "I'm too nervous, and I don't even know why. All I'm praying for is that our baby is healthy." he said.

"For sure bum, kaya calm down na." Jastine replied, reaching for his hand. "Dapat ako ang kino-comfort mo eh, parang baliktad ata." he jested.

Kenneth finally laughed. "I know...I just can't help it, my heart is really pounding hard right now."

He gently caressed his tummy, bringing his face close and talking to the baby inside as if it could hear him. "Baby, love ka ni Papa Ken. Love ko kayo ng Daddy Tine mo." then he kissed it.

Jastine caressed his cheek in return. "And we love you too, Papa Ken." he replied.

Then they heard the door open.

"Sorry about the delay, you know, husband duties." the smiling doctor said.

Jastine smiled at him. "It's fine, Tito Doc."

"Okay, so let's start na mga anak." the doctor said as he pulled down the blanket.

He instructed Kenneth to pull up Jastine's shirt to her rib cage. He started applying gel while explaining the procedure, then held the transducer and glanced at the couple.

"Are you ready, lovebirds?" he asked, giving them a sweet smile.

Kenneth breathed in and out. "Yes, Doc."

Jastine just smiled at him excitedly.

"Oh, nice. Your baby is in a good position. Hindi tayo mahihirapan na makita ang gender." Dr. Sebastian said while looking at the monitor.

Here's a more vivid version that captures their anticipation and joy:

The three of them stared at the monitor, though Kenneth and Jastine didn't quite know what they should be looking for to tell their baby's gender. All they could focus on was the tiny figure moving on the screen, and that was enough to fill them with awe. Dr. Sebastian had already assured them that their baby was healthy, and truly, that was all that mattered to them. The joy of simply watching their little one brought them a happiness beyond words.
