Later that night, after finishing dinner and settling down in the living room with Mingi, he found himself staring at his phone. He took a deep breath, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. He opened his messages ready to send a new message to Mi-cha, his fingers hovering over the keyboard for a moment.

When he sent the message, he read over the message a few times, making sure it sounded casual yet inviting.

him: hey micha, it was great seeing you today even though i thought you ghosted me

him: i enjoyed our conversation and was wondering if you would like to grab coffee sometime

her: of course, i had fun despite the depressing chat

her: im free later during the week after thursday as ive made plans with my parents but anytime after thursday is great

him: friday?

him: 2pm again at the small cafe opposite the park? the brown one with the tea cup logo

her: sounds good, looking forward to it

him: by the way

him: what did you get up to after i walked you home

her: just relaxed and saw my parents and watched some tv quiz things with them

her: and started reading another book

him: thats good

him: what were you reading?

her: just a novel ive been meaning to finish, one that pulls you in yk

her: i lost track of time for like 2 hours reading it haha

him: sounds like a good type of book

him: youll have to tell me about it on friday

her: speaking of books

her: i was meant to bring it today but i completely forgot

her: when we met years ago, you said you wanted a copy of the book i was reading but it wasnt at the library

her: did you want to borrow it?

him: sure

him: i thought i told you today that i just came up with a silly excuse to talk to you though

her: yeah but still

him: id be happy to read it

him: what is your secret to being an adult i mean, my roommate is a mess and just eats all the food i buy

her: tea, snacks, avoiding responsibilities like your roommate lmao
