Ayan's fingers were gentle yet firm as they cupped Alisha's face, his touch a surprising contrast to the cold demeanor he had shown earlier. Her cheeks were wet with tears, and he wiped them away with a tenderness that made her heart skip a beat.

His eyes locked onto hers, a deep green against a sea of brown, and in that moment, she felt a flicker of something she hadn't expected—hope.

"Everything is going to be alright," he murmured, his voice a soothing balm to her frayed nerves. The intensity in his gaze was daunting, yet there was a promise there, one she desperately wanted to believe.

Alisha gulped, her throat tight, blinking back more tears. She couldn't believe this was happening. Her arranged husband, someone she had only just met, was being unexpectedly compassionate.

Even her heartbeat seemed to pick up speed, racing in her chest as if trying to keep up with the whirlwind of emotions swirling within her. So many questions filled her mind, but none could find their way out.

Ayan's smile was brief, almost imperceptible, before he stood and turned to Alisha's father.

"I want to take her with me right now," he stated, his voice cold and commanding.

There was no room for argument, no hesitation in his demand. As soon as the nikkah ended, guests began moving towards the garden for dinner, but Alisha barely noticed. It was night, and she realized with a sinking feeling that she was leaving the only home she had ever known.

"But the----" Alisha's father started, but Ayan raised his hand sharply, silencing him. Alisha's stepmother stepped beside her, ushering her into the corner, while her brother stood nearby, surrounded by Ayan's imposing guards. There were at least twenty of them, each looking like they could handle anything that came their way.
