As I looked over at the man giving instructions to the volunteers, his sleeves rolled up to reveal veiny hands, his hair falling messily over his forehead, and a loose tie with the top two buttons of his white shirt open, only one word came to mind:

HOT.

Sensing my gaze, he tilted his face in my direction, and our eyes met, catching me in the act. Normally, I’d be the one blushing or shying away when caught staring, but is he normal? No.

Yes, the man who was just seconds ago spitting out instructions like a dedicated, intense head boy was now blushing, giving me a shy smile.

I sighed as he lowered his lashes, his ears turning red with a shy smile. What even is this man?

You might be wondering why he’s acting all shy, so...

Flashback begins:

My timer buzzed, signaling that two hours had passed.

"Finally," he said, leaning back in his chair as if he’d actually studied. Yeah, right. He’d been staring at me the whole time like I was his midterm exam paper.

But why does he look at me so much? What does he want? Does he...want my notes?

Well, a lot of people do want my notes—I make them very precise and accurate—but I only share them with Ruhi and Rohi. He could have just asked me for them if he wanted them. What’s the need to stare so much?

I closed my textbook and put it back on the shelf.

"Umm... so, let's go to bed," I said, and his eyes widened.

"What?" he asked, a little too loudly.

I scrunched my brows in confusion.

"Let's go to bed," I repeated.

His eyes stretched to their limit as he pressed his lips into a thin line and gulped, looking down as he scratched the back of his neck.

"Isn’t it too late for me to come over there?" he asked, still not meeting my gaze.

I narrowed my eyes. "Why would you come here?"

"To sleep," he said, and my eyes widened.

"What?" I said, a bit louder than intended.

He looked at me with a small pout and doe eyes.

"You asked me to go to bed, so why are you yelling at me now?" he replied innocently.

I was speechless. Like, what is this man? That’s not what I meant! He’s even blushing!

"Oh my god," I muttered.

He gave me a long, intense look, and then said, "Now you’re staring at me so intensely, and then you yell, ‘WHAT?’" His face was getting redder by the second.
