Being friends with Chloe was honestly really fun! She picked me up for school each day so far and was always there waiting after. Rachel hung out with us at times too and so did Steph. But I could tell Mikey found her obnoxious, though I saw her as charming and amazing.
My first real date with her was going to be tomorrow on Saturday.
I was in the gender neutral bathroom avoiding my last class of the day when Steph entered.
"There you are.... I've been looking everywhere for you!" She exclaimed.
"Why are you okay?" I asked.
"Because... well.. I heard about your date and uh.."
I blushed. "Yeah it's exciting huh?" I asked.
"I mean... yeah, but also... no?" she mumbled and I looked at her confused.
"No? Why no?" I asked. She sighed.
"Y/N... I... I'm.. I'm in love with you."
My heart pounded as my face reddened, but I still didn't believe the words from her mouth. In love? Could she really be? I stayed silent when she began talking again.
"I just.. I've loved you for so long, I've realized You were my first crush, and ever since the day I realized it, I can't get you out of my head. Every time I try, I fall for you more. When you moved away I figured my crush would leave too, but it didn't, and ever since you were back I knew I had to tell you. Especially when I heard you may date Chloe."
"Steph.."
"I know.. you probably love chloe already"
"Steph this is my first date with her. I don't love anyone."
"Oh."
"But... Steph, you mean a lot to me. I just don't know if I can handle this right now."
"I'm sorry y/n I don't want to make things harder. But I couldn't keep it in anymore."
"I understand, thank you for telling me." I took her hands and rubbed them gently with my thumbs. "Ill think things over, I promise." I added. She smiled a bit, looking into my eyes as a tear slid down her cheek.
