Yoooooo happy birthday to Luuuuke. A bit disappointing since I just turned 18, but you know, only like 11 months difference, still legal haha.

~Elsie's POV~
"Lime frozen yogurt?" Luke asked, his nose scrunched up in disgust as we ordered.
"Hey, it's good! Very refreshing." I explained, crossing my arms over my chest.
It was strange to be standing here, in public of all places, joking around with someone. It usually took me a long time to get used to someone enough to just have a simple conversation, let alone joke around. There was something about Luke though that reminded me of myself. Maybe that's why I was so comfortable around him.
"Yeah, I guess I can't judge considering I got passion fruit..." Luke said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I nodded and sat down at a table near the back with him.
"So um....as you know, I wasn't a fan of your band, so I don't really know anything about you." I pointed out, trying to start conversation.
Luke laughed from across the table, looking down at his yogurt as he pulled his lip ring into his mouth. "Yeah, that's still strange to me. But I guess I can tell you about me."
I rolled my eyes and took a spoonful of yogurt into my mouth as I waited. "Well uh...my name is Luke Hemmings. Which I would assume you already knew. Um, I play the guitar and sing..." He started, looking up as he thought of things to say.
"Luke. Even I know that stuff." I said, tilting my head and shaking it slowly.
"Fine, fine. I love dogs, but cats are cool too I guess. Penguins are my favorite animal. My favorite place I've been so far is England....um, I have two older brothers...did I miss anything? Was that good? Did it live up to your standards?" Luke asked after his rambling.
"Yeah, that was pretty good." I replied with a smile, continuing to eat my frozen yogurt.
"Your turn." Luke said, leaning his elbows on the small table, making him a little too close for comfort.
"Oh...uh, my name is Elsie Grey, I'm 20. I love cats more than dogs," I started, laughing at our opposite opinions. "I've really never left the state of Washington, but I'd love to visit England...or any other country really. I don't have any siblings. Oh, and I love reading." I finished, a bit unnerved by Luke's intense stare, his blue eyes never leaving my face as I talked.
"Hm, cats more than dogs? Really?" Luke questioned, "I guess it makes sense."
"What's that supposed to mean?" I glared at him, my spoonful of yogurt stopping midair.
"I don't know, you just seem so calm and chilled out. Like a cat." Luke said with a shrug, eating a big spoonful of his frozen yogurt.
I nodded and looked down at my phone when it vibrated. "Oh, Lola just texted me." I said as I unlocked my phone. "She says they're leaving the party."
"I guess we should get back then." Luke said as he grabbed both of our empty yogurt containers and stood up to throw them away.
"Yeah...so, where are you guys traveling to next?" I asked as we walked out of the shop.
"We leave for Asia tomorrow. Today was our last day in America." Luke says, his voice suddenly sad. "But I mean, we can still keep in touch."
I nodded and handed him my phone. "Here, just put your number in and we can text." I suggested, putting my own number in his phone when he handed it to me.
"Yeah, I'll make sure to FaceTime you." Luke laughed as we walked back to the party.
Once we got there, everyone was waiting by the van for us. "How was your date, hm?" Lola asked me as she elbowed my arm.
I rolled my eyes in response and got into the van with everyone else. I sat next to Lola in the back, Ashton on her other side.
"So? You didn't answer my question!" Lola whispered excitedly as she poked my side. I couldn't tell if she was slightly drunk or not, I mean, she acted drunk most of the time anyway.
"It was fun. We talked a bit and he's really sweet." I said, not sure what else to say about him. I didn't really want to jinx anything by saying how great he was.
Lola sighed and rested her head on my shoulder. "Is it sad that I'm living my life through you? You're life just always seems so much more interesting."
I scoffed and shook my head vigorously. "What are you talking about? I never leave the dorm room and I don't ever talk to anyone. How is that interesting?"
"Yeah, but when you actually do something, it's interesting." Lola pouted, patting my arm reassuringly.
After about ten minutes we made it back to the concert venue. It was already past one AM at this point, but none of us seemed tired.
"We should probably get back to our dorm..." Lola said, looking over at the four boys as they stretched.
"Yeah...we should probably get sleep before our flight." Calum said with a shrug. Everyone seemed extremely awkward in this situation. We all barely knew each other, but it was sad to leave.
"Well, I guess I'll see you around Elsie." Luke said, bumping his shoulder into mine with a grin on his face.
I nodded and smiled, elbowing his arm. "Remember to call me when you get to Asia, see you sometime soon hopefully." I said, waving to all the boys and following Lola to the car.
Once we were in the car, I suddenly felt exhausted. I ended up sleeping the whole ride home, only to wake up when Lola shook me awake. "Come on, we have classes tomorrow morning."
We made our trek back to our dorm room, my thoughts on Luke the whole time. He honestly seemed like someone who I could be great friends with, which was a rare occurrence for me. Maybe I was changing more than I thought.
