"There's no way we just sat up here and drank two bottles of my wine at 5:30 in the afternoon," I laughed with Solange.
"Shit, after being around the parents God gave us, we should've drunk another one."
"I know," I sighed, finishing the rest of my wine. I was feeling a little tipsy but good.
Solange leaned back and looked over at me. "I'm really proud of you, though."
"For what?"
"Running the company. You're young, and you're doing a better job than some of these business owners out there. I'm proud to be your little sister, and you make me want to be better," she said.
"Solo..."
"No, I'm serious. But most of all, I'm so glad you stood up for yourself to Mama and Daddy. It's about time," she said.
"I'm just tired of it. Nothing I do is good enough, and Daddy just sits there and lets her say whatever. He always thinks she's right-no damn backbone," I said.
"Sad excuse of a man."
"Damn, you didn't have to hit below the belt," I said, and she shrugged, chuckling. I glanced at my phone and saw it was going on 6 p.m. I needed to start getting ready soon.
"So..." Solange said, making me look up at her. "You gonna tell me about Miss Nicki?"
"What about her?" I raised my brow.
"Now, I know last night was freaky Friday, but the way y'all were on each other-it looked like pure sexual tension and chemistry. Y'all want each other, you more than her," she pointed out.
"How do you figure that?"
"I have a feeling. Look at you now, showing all your small-ass teeth just at the mention of her name," she said, and I waved her off.
"I don't know, Solo..." I sighed.
"Know about what?"
"Something's drawing me to her. I want her so bad, but she's just too young for me," I said.
"Well, how do you know how old she is?"
"I don't, but I feel like she's young. You can tell-she doesn't look over 25," I said.
"Okay, so if she's 25, then so what? That's only seven years younger than you. You're thinking too much into it. Plus, some young people can have very intelligent minds and be mature for their age," she said, and I nodded.
I looked down and then back at her. "I kind of transferred money to her account last night."
"You did what?" she gasped.
