Onika Maraj
January 27When I tell you the rest of the day I had a smile on my face, I mean just that. Nobody has ever eaten me that fucking good. Beyoncé was a fucking problem.
My dumb ass gave in too quickly, but it felt good. I don't even care.
I opened the door to my apartment, humming a Whitney Houston song in my head. When I walked in, Lauren and Cassie were in the kitchen cooking. They both looked back at me, and I smiled, waving.
"Hey, beautiful women, how are y'all?"
"Bitch," Lauren laughed. She turned the stove to low and faced me. "Why you talkin' like that? You never say no shit like that."
"Maybe I want to switch up my vocabulary?"
"No, bitch, that don't even sound like you. Shut up," she laughed.
"That's the problem with Black people, always clowning the next for wanting to educate themselves," I said.
"Girl, anyways... where you just come from? 'Cause your class been over."
"I had to run some errands."
"Mmmm, if that's what they call it now," she said. I noticed Cassie taking peeks at me, looking like she wanted to say something but decided not to.
"Lauren, I won't be home tonight, boo, just in case you're looking for me later," I said, knowing she was about to ask a million and one questions.
She put her hand on her hip. "And where the hell you goin'?"
"To hell if I don't pray."
"Bitch, I'm done talkin' to you. Go ahead," she waved me off, laughing, and I walked back to my room. I went to my closet and grabbed my bag to pack some stuff.
Actually, thinking about it... I don't think it's a good idea. I've never stayed over at anybody's house, and this won't be the first-at least not until we become something more. I still don't know how she really feels about me and my age.
I sat on my bed and pulled out my phone.
: I'm not coming
: it's not appropriate
(Read 2:32 PM)Beyonce🐝: ???
: what are you not understanding?
Beyonce🐝: what's not appropriate?
: me staying at your home?
(Read 2:40 PM)I saw the typing bubbles pop up, meaning she was about to respond, but they stopped, and a phone call came through instead. I sighed and answered.
