"Master Rong, about your conversation with Master Lingyin yesterday..." Yu Ning began, sounding somewhat confused. "I'm not quite sure I understand. Could you please enlighten me a bit?" The three of them walked a few steps when she softly spoke up.

Yun Qianyue thought to herself that this little girl is really trying to get close!

"Miss Qin doesn't need to overthink it. If you don't understand, that's perfectly fine. Buddhist teachings require a Buddhist nature to reach enlightenment. If you truly comprehend it, then you are no longer yourself," Rong Jing replied calmly, his footsteps steady and his voice gentle, effectively silencing Yu Ning with a single sentence.

Yun Qianyue lowered her head, feeling a shiver run through her entire body. This heartless man is something else!

Yu Ning was momentarily stunned. Instead of being offended, she genuinely accepted his words and hurriedly released Yun Qianyue's hand to bow respectfully to Rong Jing, sincerely thanking him, "What you said is indeed right, Master Rong. Thankfully, your reminder helped me realize that I was too stubborn in my pursuit of understanding."

Yun Qianyue was speechless. Thank him for what? It was obvious that Rong Jing didn't want to tell her anything!

"Miss Qin doesn't need to thank me! Since you can grasp what I said, it shows your high level of understanding," Rong Jing continued walking without turning his head, seemingly unaware of Yu Ning's gesture, his voice remaining calm and detached.

"Still, I must thank you, Master Rong. If you hadn't pointed it out, I would have kept getting stuck in my own thoughts," Yu Ning straightened up, her soft voice like warm spring water—gentle and soothing, making one feel relaxed.

Yun Qianyue couldn't help but shiver, moving a bit further away from Yu Ning.

Rong Jing remained silent, as if he hadn't heard her.

Yu Ning didn't mind, seeming to think that this was how Rong Jing should be.

For a moment, there was nothing more to say. Yu Ning appeared unsure of what to say next, her gaze fixed on Rong Jing's back, her eyes still glued to him.

Yun Qianyue glanced at Rong Jing, whose back was as picturesque as a painting, then at Yu Ning, whose bashful demeanor was incredibly charming. She found the two of them amusing, and while walking, she began kicking stones playfully. The stones rolled across the ground, and she enjoyed it immensely.

"Be careful not to twist your ankle; otherwise, you'll just have to lie in bed!" Rong Jing suddenly said.

"Don't curse me!" Yun Qianyue shot him a glare. This guy never had a kind word to say.

"Sister Yue, you really can't sit still for even a moment. It's hard for you to be with Master Rong. If Prince Yan were here, he would definitely take you on a light-hearted adventure again," Yu Ning said, pulling her gaze away from Rong Jing's back to chuckle at Yun Qianyue.

"Right! If Ye Qingran were here, that would be great. Being with this dullard is just so boring!" Yun Qianyue agreed wholeheartedly.

"Don't think about it. Right now, Ye Qingran is probably so busy in the military headquarters that he doesn't even have time to drink water," Rong Jing glanced back at Yun Qianyue and said, "If you feel bored, we could go to the Dharma Hall. There are many people there; you definitely won't be bored. How about it?"

"Absolutely not," Yun Qianyue immediately protested.

"Didn't you just say you were bored?" Rong Jing asked.

"I just felt bored a moment ago; now I don't feel bored anymore," Yun Qianyue unapologetically denied her previous feelings, cleverly avoiding the contradiction.

"Good! As long as you're not bored," Rong Jing replied, and then fell silent again.

Yun Qianyue shot an exasperated glare at his back, continuing to kick stones, making a loud clattering sound.

Yu Ning found Yun Qianyue amusing and said softly, "So it turns out Sister Yue is afraid of hearing the Buddha's teachings! No wonder you never want to show your face at the Dharma Hall! It makes sense; Sister Yue has never liked studying literature, music, chess, calligraphy, or any feminine arts. What you like are just martial arts and swords. It's quite a challenge for you to come to Xiangquan Mountain."

"Yeah! I didn't want to come; that old man at home insisted on dragging me along," Yun Qianyue said with a frown.

"Grandfather Yun means well. This is a rare occasion. Bathing in the Buddha's light can bring blessings from the Buddha, ensuring a peaceful life. Sister Yue, you should appreciate the old prince's good intentions," Yu Ning said in a tone of understanding.

"I've grown up just fine without the Buddha's blessings," Yun Qianyue dismissed, unconvinced. She was afraid that after being bathed in the Buddha's teachings, the Buddha might consider her a monster. She waved her hand dismissively, "I don't believe in that!"

Yu Ning was about to persuade her again, but upon hearing this, she just smiled and said, "Sister Yue, you don't possess a Buddhist nature; it's something you're born with, and there's no way to change that." After saying this, she glanced at Rong Jing and asked, "Master Rong, is that so?"

"Hmm!" Rong Jing responded vaguely, his tone emotionless.

Seeing that Rong Jing actually echoed her words, Yu Ning was instantly delighted.

Yun Qianyue pouted. So what if she didn't possess a Buddhist nature? She had faced very few serious illnesses growing up. Who said that without a Buddhist nature, one couldn't live a peaceful life? The only major trouble she had was being blown to this place by that timed bomb—was it because she didn't believe in the Buddha? Did the Buddha intentionally send her here to suffer? That couldn't be right!

"Today, I'm afraid that even if you want to be bored, you won't be. The South Mountain seems quite lively today," Rong Jing said again.

"Huh?" Yun Qianyue, who had been deep in thought about whether her arrival here was related to the Buddha, was abruptly pulled from her thoughts. She looked up to see several people walking out at the crossroads ahead. It was Ye Tianqing and Ye Tianyu, but she didn't see Rong Linglan or Leng Shuli this time. She frowned in disgust at the sight of Ye Tianqing, wondering why he had to show up everywhere. Her face immediately darkened as she turned to walk back.

"Sister Yue? Why are you going back?" Yu Ning, who had also noticed Ye Tianqing and Ye Tianyu, quickly reached out to stop her.

"I forgot to grab something. I'll go back to get it; you all go ahead," Yun Qianyue waved her hand.

"Aren't those three behind us your maidservants? If you forgot something, let them get it for you. We've come so far; why bother going back yourself?" Yu Ning pointed toward Cai Lian, Ting Yu, and Ting Xue, who were trailing behind.

"They won't find it!" Yun Qianyue shook her head.

"What about your personal maid? Can't she find it either?" Yu Ning insisted, still holding onto Yun Qianyue.

"Can't find it," Yun Qianyue shrugged her off.

"Miss, what did you forget? I'll go get it for you right away," Cai Lian and the other two maidservants had been keeping an eye on the situation up ahead and had heard that Yun Qianyue forgot something, so they hurried forward.

"Forgot... ah, it's fine. You won't find it anyway. I'll just go back myself!" Yun Qianyue was making up an excuse, and in a moment, she couldn't even remember what she had forgotten. She waved her hand in annoyance at Cai Lian and strode back, thinking how sharp-eared this little girl was.
