It's been three days. Chris's mind hasn't stopped focusing on that one night. Friday. That was quite the evening he had. He and Jill kissed, it was a special & loving kiss at that. Chris still hasn't quite wrapped his head around it. That night, after they kissed, they were both quiet. They also haven't spoken at all over the weekend. Chris is just nervous. He doesn't mean to completely blow her off, he's just in a state of shock.
Jill isn't at work yet. Chris tends to be there before her anyways. This gives him time to think. He's been recollecting his thoughts since the very moment they pulled away from each other. Chris told Barry about it and all he did was congratulate him.
"You two kissed? Well done man! I knew it would happen sooner or later." Barry boasted out. He put a hand on Chris's shoulder and firmly shook it. Chris just sighed. He wanted advice more than anything but what was he expecting, really?
Chris is sure he liked the kiss. He knows he did. It had him feeling all sorts of ways. His concern is Jill. Does she regret it? Chris hopes not because he definitely doesn't. It's just that she got so quiet after they kissed. She didn't seem to be acting like herself much after that. It's caused him to worry. He's prepared to question her about it once she gets here. Hopefully she doesn't totally ignore him, that'd be a bummer.
Every so often, Chris finds himself glancing at the office door. He hopes he'll hear it open and she'll be there. She best be here within the next five minutes or else she'll be late and she hasn't been here long so that won't look good on her weekly report. Everyone else is here and already hard at work. When Chris arrived not to long ago, he jumped right into work. He's already a good four hundred words into his weekly report from last week.
He'll definitely have to talk with Jill today. What are they now? Still friends? After a kiss like that, he doesn't think he could remain being only a friend to her. Chris will completely respect what she wants but it would kill him deep within. Jill is an extraordinary woman and to have gotten the chance to kiss her was magnificent. He hopes he's able to again someday. It was pleasant. Jill is great. Chris can't get enough of her.
He wonders if Jill feels a particular way about him. Does she daydream of him? Journal about him? What do girls do when they're becoming head over heels for someone? Chris doesn't know but for her to have kissed him like that proves she feels something too. There's just no way she doesn't.

Focused on his report, Chris hadn't even noticed that Jill was in the office now. He had forced himself to stop obsessively checking every minute. Now she's here and she looks beautiful, just like always. Jill conversed with Brad for a minute or so before slowly approaching the long brown desk her and Chris shared. She glanced down at him and took a deep breath. "Hi." Jill said softly. Chris looked up at her. "Hey." Chris whispered. There's definitely some tension here.
Jill sat down and placed her bag beside her. She powered up her computer and waited for it to power up fully. It feels so awkward. Usually they're already talking one another's ear off but today? Silence. Chris doesn't like it. He wants to talk with her, but does she want to with him? He supposes he should just remain silent until she makes the first mood. It's easier that way. Better too.
