A few days had passed since Harper had been reunited with them again. In those days they had finally figured out what Evie would be doing about school. They agreed to let her try private school for now and see how she liked it.
It was about to be Evie's first day of school and Mal was having a hard time with it. "Mal it'll be okay. I'll be back before you know it," Evie told Mal in her gentle voice, hugging her close before letting go and grabbing her backpack.
"Nooo! No weabe!" Mal cried out trying to run after Evie as fast as her little legs would let her. Mal didn't want to be left alone without her big sister.
"Get Mal buckled in and I'll drive you so she can be with you right until you go in." Taylor told her, putting a coat on and grabbing her keys. Mal nodded following after Evie.
"Tuck your shirt in hun." Taylor told Evie. "Right, sorry I'm still not used to the whole uniform thing," Evie replied, tucking her shirt in. She wasn't a huge fan of the idea of wearing a uniform being the fashion person that she is but it wasn't too bad. Taylor handed Evie a blazer and then hopped into the driver's seat.
Evie smiled a little bit, taking the blazer and getting Mal into her car seat before getting in herself. Taylor drove Evie to school and pulled up before turning around. "Have a good day." She told her with a smile.
Evie smiled back she was a little nervous but excited at the same time. "Thank you, you too," Evie told her before waving goodbye and kissing Mal's forehead. "I'll be back, Mal be good okay," Evie whispered to her. She didn't want to leave Mal behind but she trusted Taylor and Travis and she knew Mal was in good hands.
Taylor watched her walk in to make sure she was okay before driving away. She made sure to peer over at Mal through the rear view mirror. Mal watched as Evie went away, the tears immediately falling down.
"Nooo! Ebie no go!" Mal cried out trying to get out to follow her.
"Hey, Mal you're good, she will be there for about 7 hours then she will be back. You can even come with me to pick her up. You get to play with Harper all day while me and Travis are working. That will be fun." Taylor told her, glancing at the mirror again to check on her.
Mal sniffled and nodded a little bit the tears still falling but not as much as before. "I wan Ebie," Mal whispered. She wasn't used to being away from her and she still wasn't completely used to their new home yet.
"I know you do but the day will go so fast and she will be home before you know It." Taylor told her. "Maybe during my break we can do some baking or have a little walk to the park and play there. Evie won't be long." She told Mal.
Mal whipped her tears with her little hands before slowly nodding again. "Pomise?" Mal asked. Taylor smiled and pulled into the driveway. "Yes I promise." She replied.
Mal smiled a little bit, seeming to be calming down. She still wanted Evie but she did like the idea of playing with Harper and maybe going to the park. Taylor helped her out of the car and let her head inside while she followed behind. By the time she got in Harper was also awake and ready for the day.
Taylor smiled going over to her. "Morning you want some breakfast?" Taylor asked Harper.
"I had some." Harper told her. Travis came out of his office and gave Taylor a smile. "I gave her some breakfast. I have to record for my podcast but if I have to pop out and check on them I'm sure Jason won't mind. I mean Harper's been on the podcast enough times for it to be okay." He told Taylor, not wanting her to feel like she has to deal with the girls all alone.
"Sounds good. Okay girls I'm gonna be with daddy in his office working. If you need anything we'll be in there," Taylor told the two girls. Harper shook her head and followed Taylor to the office door.
