It was early, really really for people like Diya to wake up and get ready. But here she was, combing her beautiful brownish-black locks to flaunt them at the puja. Lakshmi and Ganesh puja which was held in Dhruv's house. She wore a simple but beautifully worked suit. It was Ruby red and had beautiful little flowers of yellow colour to contrast with red. Her brown eyes shining with excitement and its lashes were curled up with the little help of mascara. She applied a subtle brown lipstick. Lastly her ear adorned with smal golden earrings. She took a picture of hers and taking her handbag she left for the puja.
On the other hand, here in the Singh Mansion the preparation were going nicely.
The house was glowing with the hustling and bustling of the guests.Dhruv was busy in taking care of all the managements for the puja. Malini's friends were busy decorating the temple. Dhruv’s college friends who were Diya's friends too, were preparing the garlands.
And the aroma of the sweets and food was even mouth watering for the people crossing by the roads.
Malini was mixing the food item being cooked on the pan, with spatula but her focus was constantly driving towards the main door. As if expecting someone. Checking if the item was fully cooked, she turned off the stove and went towards those who were standing near the small temple built in their house.
"Kab aayegi?" Her voice was sounding impatient and her brows furrowed. (When will she come?)
“Who?”
“Diya”
“Aati hi hogi mumma.”
(She would be coming mumma)
“But when?”She ran towards the main door, even before he could respond. She stood in front of the main door. She scanned the area and found the woman in red coming towards the door with a small shy smile. As soon as her eyes spotted her, she called out with joy.
“Aa gayi”
(She came)Dhruv flinched but soon composed himself and let out a laugh, seeing his mother's craziness, but deep down he himself was more crazy for her.
His eyes automatically were drawn towards her. He looked at her and noticed she wore her favorite color, red, and was looking— gorgeous. She was absolutely looking like an angel coming down from heaven.
His face brightened up, a huge smile plastered on his face, face red-hot matching with her outfit.
“Haaye Kitni pyaari lag rahi hai meri bacchi” Malini exclaimed, putting a black dott under Diya's ear to save har from evil eyes.
(My daughter looks lovely)“Sach mein, sabse pyari”
He whispered to himself but his eyes stuck on her. He was truly feeling things which were illegal for him.
(Truly, the loveliest)“Dhruv” his mother shook him with all her strength to gain him from his lalala land.
“Huh, what happened” He asked.
“Kaha khoye ho janab, go! Get ready”
(Where are you lost Mister)He turned around to go, but he could hear both the ladies chuckling and teasing him. He rubbed his neck in embarrassment and walked towards his room.
The room was scattered with different clothes, but still Dhruv couldn't find out what to wear.
He was continuously scratching his head in order to come up with something. Suddenly, a knock at the door startled him.
"Come in." His voice came lower than expected.
“Tum abhi tak ready nhi hue”
(You didn't got ready yet)
Diya's sweet voice broke his chain of thoughts. “I am not getting what to wear” He layed on the bed and closed his eyes.“Hmm” She walked around the room and found something and threw it on him, "Go and try it." She sounded excited. "Are you sure I'll look good in this?" She nodded.
Diya was scrolling her phone when the door of the bathroom got clicked open. She looked up to see Dhruv.
She had chosen a nice yellow silk kurta for him, which was matching with the yellow flowers on her suit. His kurta was looking perfect on him, contrasting with his honey brown skin and dark wavy black hair. He indeed was looking hot.
Any girl would die to have him, but this man was busy admiring the lady in front of him.
“Kaisa lag raha hu?”
He asked, his voice carrying a mischievous glint on noticing how she was ogling at him.
(How do I look)“Hot” The word slipped out of her mouth unknowingly. She mentally slapped herself, realizing what she said.
“Huh”
“Tum kuch bhi pehno lagoge toh Bandar hi”
(You wear anything but would look no less than a monkey.)She joked but instantly regretted seeing him coming dangerously close to her. He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and took a deep breathe inhaling her sweet smell, while a shiver ran down her spine.
“But you look gorgeous, my lady” her breathe hitched, heart skipped a beat, now her face was matching with her outfit - red and hot.
“Breath”
“Huh”
“Breath Diya”
She realized her breath got stuck. She lowered her gaze, not wanting to get lost in those black and beautiful orbs again. He chuckled seeing his effect he has on her.But their movement was interrupted with the coughing sound of someone.
“Aap dono ka ho gaya ho toh, puja ka time ho raha, chalein”
Malini said suppressing her smile. “Ha, aa hi rahe the” they said in a unison. Malini giggled and proceeded towards down stairs.Dhruv knowingly or unknowingly took Diya's hand in his and walked out of his room following Malini. Diya was too stunned to speak these days because of Dhruv. She looked at their interwined hands and a blush crept on her cheeks.
She was feeling something dor her best friend. Is this a good sign, after her past life? But she couldn't care much. She was happy with this new feeling blooming between them.
