I walked back into the living room about ten minutes later, and my lips parted when I found Luca lying on the couch, facing away from me.
Although... by his soft, gentle breaths and his relaxed stance, I knew he was asleep.
I stepped over to him then, kneeling to his level as I lightly pulled his shoulder to face me.
His expression was relaxed, and he was deep in those dreams of his.
Although, he was still in my shirt, and his hair was still a little damp from being stuck in the rain.
I just pulled some hair away from his face. "So tired, aren't you?" I just smiled a little. "I'm glad I made your room, though. Here."
I gently scooped him up, hearing his soft grunt as I held under his bottom.
His cheek set on my shoulder as his arms and legs dangled, but I just carried him upstairs.
After we made it to my bedroom, I just made my way further in until I met a door on the far wall.
I parted the wood, carrying him into another room.
He still breathed ever-so-gently, and I flicked on the lights before I made it to his bed.
I smiled a little, lowering him onto the mattress.
His body was still limp, and I just smiled, pulling the covers over him.
I then stood, staring down at his form.
A small smile split my lips. "Now you have your own room, Angel. But you have to pass through mine if you want to escape." I just stepped over to the door. "Even though I'll know before you try."
"D—da—nte," he whispered.
I immediately glanced back at him.
"D—an—te," Luca murmured, reaching his hand out.
I noticed exhaustion and fear cloud over his eyes, and my lashes immediately lowered.
He's disoriented again.
Did he have a nightmare?
I wouldn't be surprised if he did... after what happened with his sister, I would be shattered, too.
I then stepped over to him, kneeling by the bed. "What's up?"
He reached out more to me.
I lightly caught his hand, twining my fingers through his.
His eyes clouded over more, and he reached his other hand out. I let him clutch onto my other one.
His breath shook slightly. "Am I dreaming...?"
I lightly shook my head.
"I can't... breathe," he expressed to me. "It's like... there's a weight in my chest and it's pressing against my lungs."
I just locked my eyes with his, gently running my thumb along his wrist. "Do you want me to stop it?"
"St...op... it?" he echoed.
"I can get into your head," I stated, "and make the memory less painful."
He nodded too quickly, breaths straining.
Something cold swelled inside me.
It bothers him that much? But he was so good at hiding it before.
Do his walls lower when he's tired?
"Are you sure?" I asked him then. "I'll erase all emotion toward what happened last night."
His eyes shook with fear. "Make it stop."
My lips thinned then. "If you so desire, I will do it."
I just lightly pulled my hand up and pressed it against his forehead.
His skin glowed a slight white, like a moon in the darkness.
"Close your eyes," I whispered to him. "When you wake up tomorrow, you will remember everything but feel no pain."
He let his lashes flutter shut.
I just lowered my lashes, speaking the spell. "Ut dormit, spiret. Quos dolores illum omnis. Meminerit, omnes quaerebat, sed corde pace vivat."
I watched as the magic deepened into his forehead, and I then pulled back, lips thinning as his expression finally relaxed.
As his stance eased into the bed, I smiled. "You make me crazy. What am I going to do with you?"
