Epilogue: Five Years Later

The sun filtered through the curtains of the Kim household, casting warm beams of light across the spacious living room. Laughter echoed through the halls as two small figures raced down the hallway, their little feet pattering against the wooden floors. Taehyung had become quite accustomed to the sound of chaos that accompanied parenthood, and today was no different.

“Gun Woo! Soo Ah! Slow down!” Taehyung called out, a gentle smile tugging at his lips as he watched his five-year-old twins dash into the living room. The two children were a whirl of energy, their laughter ringing with joy as they played hide and seek.

“Catch us if you can, Dad!” Gun Woo shouted, his messy hair bouncing as he ran. He had taken after his father with his dark locks and bright, expressive eyes.

“Oh, I’ll catch you,” Taehyung replied playfully, rising from the couch where he had been sipping his morning coffee. He stretched, secretly enjoying the slight ache in his muscles—a pleasant reminder that he was still capable of keeping up with his active children.

In the kitchen, Jungkook was busy preparing breakfast. The smell of pancakes wafted through the air, mingling with the aroma of fresh fruit. He hummed softly to himself, a tune from a recent K-drama they enjoyed together, lost in the rhythm of flipping pancakes. His heart swelled with love every time he thought of his family—how far they had come in just five years.

“Breakfast is almost ready!” Jungkook shouted playfully, knowing that his children would soon come racing back. He knew exactly how to lure them in.

“Yay! Pancakes!” Soo Ah squealed, her enthusiasm infectious. With her hair styled into two adorable pigtails, she looked like a living doll—a perfect blend of her parents, with Jungkook’s sparkling eyes and Taehyung’s charming smile.

The twins dashed into the kitchen, pulling their father along with them.

“Look, look! We found a new hiding spot!” Gun Woo proudly declared, his cheeks flushed from running. “We were behind the sofa!”

Jungkook chuckled, setting the pancakes onto a large plate. “Is that right? You two are getting better at hiding every day. But did you find the secret pancake stash behind the fridge?”

Their eyes widened in unison, and the twins gasped dramatically. “There’s a pancake stash?!”

“Of course! Some pancakes just for you!” Jungkook teased, pretending to be serious.

“Yay!” They jumped up and down in excitement, and Taehyung couldn’t help but join in, lifting Soo Ah into his arms as she squealed with glee.

As they all sat at the kitchen table, Taehyung reflected on how much life had changed since that hectic night of the twins’ birth. He and Jungkook had navigated their journey into parenthood with love and laughter, learning to accept the trials and tribulations that came with raising two spirited children.

“Appa, tell us the story of how we were born!” Gun Woo requested, his eyes lighting up with curiosity. The twins loved hearing the tale of their arrival—a story filled with excitement and some amusing mishaps along the way.

“Okay, but only if you promise to finish your breakfast first,” Jungkook said, raising an eyebrow at them playfully. “You both need your strength if you want to continue hiding so well.”

They nodded vigorously, digging into their pancakes with enthusiasm. Taehyung watched with pride, savoring the moment. With each bite, laughter erupted from the trio, filling the air with warmth.
