"Hey babe, what's this?" Tommy said grabbing a dusty box out of the closet. "I wouldn't touch that..." A journal fell from on top of the box and its pages sprawled out on the floor. That journal just happened to be my old diary back when we were just co-workers... Seeing the horrid things written in the pages, Tommy's expression was blank, and he didn't say a thing. He slowly turned over to me just blankly staring at me. "Oh Tommy..." I said walking over to the blank-faced blonde, a smile spreading across my face. "You're so naive, sweetheart!" I said hugging him tightly from behind getting a whiff of every good scent his body had to offer while giggling from the kick it gave. "We were meant to be together. Forever. He wanted to ruin that for us. I just couldn't let that happen, Dear!" I said laying my head on his back smiling sweetly as he started to speak. "Baby, I think your mistaken." He began as I slightly lifted up my head confused... This isn't the reaction I expected. I thought he'd be more hurt or shocked. "What do you mean I'm mistaken?" "You didn't have to do all this for me, but I love your admiration! These drawings are gorgeous..." He said with a soft chuckle. Those drawings are many of the ways that I thought about killing his now dead best friend. Nothing was quite making sense. "Tommy, I afraid you're not being straightforward with me... Why don't you hate me?" "What reason do have to hate you?" "I killed your best friend. I killed a man. I actually killed two people actually. I thought you'd be angry at me..." Tommy released from my grasp and turned to look at me sighing. "I loved you from the start. The moment I saw you, I felt immediate connection to you. I felt like nothing else mattered, like no one else mattered." At that point when he said that I felt so... understood. "Me... me too." "I don't care that he died! I don't care who else died! It doesn't matter! You're the only one who matters to me." I felt elated like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I kissed him long and hard smiling the whole entire time. Then we got into some light fun in the bedroom which was now just a mattress on the floor before remembering that we were going to be late to our new place. But we didn't care. The universe cannot keep us apart from each other no longer. No more secrets. No more hiding our strong love for one another... if I knew he loved me from the start I wouldn't have had to do any of that dirty work! But it's too late now... Oh well! As long as were together...
Nothing else matters.
