The next day Nabeel drove to Abuja to pick up Umaimah, Maria was already taken to her house. Umaimah already entered another car when Nabeel's call came through on her phone, she picked up and the only thing he said was.
"Come out from that car," And then he hanged up.
Who the hell does he think he is talking to her in that authoritative voice, she refused to go out, a text came through.
Nabeel: I wouldn't mind picking you on my shoulders again.
She knew he'll actually do it so she walked out.
Throughout the drive he didn't talk to her. Umaimah already started giving up because he's showing her clearly he doesn't love her romantically. She's just his sister.
He smiled at her, asked of the wedding casually and drove like he was with just another normal person In his car-not that she's abnormal.
Abba and Yazid also returned and they were all preparing for court, at first Abba suggested that it should be a close case that only they should be involved but Nabeel refused showing him that they needed to expose the Yabo's to the world even if that will dig up old wounds.
“Nabeel, lawyers are shrewd people. They'll paint your mum black for what she did, they'll bring old newspapers that printed what she did before are you ready for that? Taint a dead woman. ”
Nabeel did think about that but he won't surrender because of emotions this time.
"I'm ready, Abba I don't mind."
"If you don't, I do."
It was hard to convince Abba but he finally agreed.
They duplicated, triplicate, quadruplicate evidence. They were ready for the hearing which was tomorrow. Umaimah did hope Nabeel will talk to her or something but he didn't care. He was just working on tomorrow's case.
Nini asked about the divorce but Nabeel just shoved it by saying he'll take care of it even though he didn't know how to Since clearly Asad showed him he wouldn't.
COURT DAY
They had breakfast together as usual, everyone was quiet at breakfast, they didn't know what today held but they prayed for better. They all drove to court except Umaimah And Nini- Nini said she wouldn't attend and Umaimah didn't want to meet the Yabo's.
Everyone's heart told a different story but they all sitted and the judge walked in. They all stood up to pay respect, The narrator described what the case what about and the hearing began.
Barr. Rushdi Bukar stood up and explained to the judge. " My clients have been wronged by the Yabo's, They killed Mrs. Halima Shamaki and the Young Sauban Shamaki moreover they're involved in drug Trafficking."
" I would like to call Mr. Nabeel Shamaki here to ask him a few questions."
"Permission granted."
The atmosphere was tense but the other lawyer's face wasn't tensed he only watched like someone who had a big plan under his sleeve. Barr. Ali Yakubu was a lawyer who won cases by tricks not that he'll change his way during this hearing.
Nabeel walked to the questioning podium and swore to tell the truth.
"Mr. Nabeel Shamaki how sure are you that The Yabo's are responsible for your mother's death."Barr. Rushdi asked.
"Because before she died, i mean the day i visited her at the hospital. Alh. Yabo was there, she lived there in London alone. But then before she died she was gathering evidence against Alh. Yabo because she knew he was involved in drug trafficking. Her hospital autopsy showed her cause of death was suffocation. After further investigation it seems Mrs. Yabo paid a nurse to kill her."
